Left-hander Glendon Rusch tries to avoid his 10th straight loss tonight as the Milwaukee Brewers host the St Louis Cardinals in the third of a four-game set.

The Brewers have alternated wins and losses through their last six games and are in last place in the NL Central at 28-41. Rusch was 10-16 with a 4.70 ERA last season but this year is just 1-10, 7.77 ERA. He gave up four runs to the Baltimore Orioles in only 4 1/3 innings Friday and Milwaukee are just 1-9 in his last 10 starts overall. Right-handed batters are hitting a whopping .385 against Rusch this season so another offensive outburst from Albert Pujols would not surprise. The Cards are not the type of team you'd want to face when you've lost nine straight decisions, especially when your home record is a pathetic 0-5, 10.01 ERA. In 11 career starts against the Cards Rusch is 3-4 with a 3.92 ERA...including a loss at St Louis April 2 when he was pounded for seven runs and 11 hits in just five innings of work.

The Cardinals 12-3 victory last night improves their record to 36-33 this season which is good for third place in the NL Central. Jason Simontacchi gets the start tonight and he had won three straight before losing to the Yankees Friday when he gave up five runs and eight hits in six innings. The 29 year-old right-hander has faced the Brewers once before in his career and despite allowing just one run and four hits in seven innings he didn't figure in the decision.

St Louis are a dominating 13-4 in recent meetings between these teams and we expect that to continue tonight.
