Cards with Carpenter

Will be on my Redbirds tonight w/Carpenter on the mound. A few facts on Carpenter who shut out the red hot Astros and Roger Clemens his last time out. Carpenter is 5-1 against the Cubs with a 3.35 era, but in his last six starts, he sports a ridiculous 0.36 era. That means he has given up two runs in 50 2/3 innings in those 6 consecutive wins while allowing 20 hits, walking just seven and striking out 54. Pretty impressive. Cards are 31-11 against central division opponents while Carpenter is 9-0 with a 1.28 era against the same. La Russa shuffled his rotation so that Carpenter and Morris would face Houston last week and the Cubbies this weekend. Have to go with the hot pitcher tonight. GLTA

Gotta love those Cards today! It's a wonder the line isn't a lot higher.

i hate the cards, but they are playing the cubs and the "dusty baker" factor...this guy could manager any team out of a victory
