Anyone ever use carib and if so opinions on them appreciated, or is there another online book that anyone would recommend. Thanks.

Carib-A nice overall solid book with good customer service (They actually answer your e mails) and $5 free bonus play on some holidays or special days. (I turned one of their bonuses into $500 a couple of years ago, no kiddin !) Reduced juice for happy hour & reduced vig on Fridays,I think for college foots. Juice is still a bit high for bases. Some moderate reload and referral bonuses. Tons of different things to play. They make you feel at home with them, if you can catch that drift.

Pinnacle......Can't beat their lines anywhere,(ie 8 cent bases lines) but there is a little price to pay for that as they are becoming known as being verrrry sharp. If you can cap and are confident, this is the place for you. Not too many bonuses. Nice withdrawal rules.

Olympic.........longstanding house, very reputable. Normal lines/juice with baseball now joining the 10 cent lines that are becoming standard elsewhere. Lot of props offered.

I think you will be happy with any one or more of the above. I have never heard of a problem getting paid (or serious problem otherwise) from any of them.
It never hurts to have an extra out or two for line shopping and the occasional busy or down site time which is becoming commonplace as of late. Or, if summer storms knock out lines to your fave place, you are covered if you use two different countries.

I would avoid any NASA or Betus.com operation, even though the sign up/reload (faux) bonuses are hard to resist.

Carib would be well down my list when it comes to recommending books. They're legit and worthwhile as a secondary out, but there are so many better books. My main gripes with Carib are

1. They post delayed odds. Use them for any extended amount of time and you'll understand what i mean.

2. No free Neteller withdrawals under any circumstances. At the minimum, they could offer a free withdrawal every x number of days like many other books do. Even worse, if you want to withdraw more than $2500, you need to pay multiple withdrawal fees. If Carib was a reduced vig book, I'd be more understanding here; but they're not.

3. 20 cent lines for baseball. Even Olympic has seen the light and gone to a 10 cent line.

4. Slow site. I'm not referring to the DOS attacks which affected many books. I just find Carib's site slow in general -- relative to other books I use.

On the plus side, they do have a nice selection of offerings. Plus, their customer support is very polite and quick to respond.

Who would I recommend?

IMO, Pinnacle is by far the top book out there. Lowest vig around and never a concern with them. Very tough book to beat though. There's a reason they can afford to charge low vig -- sharpest book out there.

Of sponsors here, I would put Olympic next, especially now that they've gone to a 10 cent baseball line. They're typically the first to post lines and have numerous offerings. My only gripe with Olympic is their high vig on props and futures. But, all in all, this is one of the top books out there.

Although I haven't yet used 5dimes (I plan to soon), I've heard nothing but good things about them. 5 cent overnight lines for baseball along with numerous offerings.

Although WSEX doesn't seem to get mentioned much amongst the top books, I've always liked them a lot. Unique interactive wagering and can often get good dog prices here.

Canbet used to be higher on my list. But they are on the paranoid side. Win too much and they will reduce your limits. They advertise low vig, but they use a different scale than most books. Once the money line reaches a certain threshold, their vig is actually on the high side. But -107 is nice for your standard pointspread sports.

There are several other non-sponsor books I use. Of them, I would rate Hollywood and IIS at Olympic's level, 2nd only to Pinnacle. I'm never sure how much I'm allowed to say here. Hopefully, it's ok to mention non-sponsor books as long as I don't post URL's for them. If this is not allowed, then I'm sure an admin will edit my post.

Overall, I use or have used about 15-20 books. I'd put Carib about 10th on my list.

Like wsex, I dislike carib's use of the drop-down menu for wagers. Meaning, if a game is -120, you HAVE to lay 12 to win 10, 24 to win 20, 36 to win 30, etc. I just think if I want to bet $74.58 on a game, I should be able to. Or if you like to flat-bet, the same thing.

If it's baseball season, play with pinnacle, 5dimes, olympic. If you don't play more than $300 a game, add Gameday. Far better baseball books than carib is.

We discussed this a while ago bjfinste, I hate that dropdown menu, plus wsex has like a million different bets to try to get you to chase and lose ie reverses round robins etc etc, but that drop down menu pissed me off to no end and I refuse to deal with it it was just a stupid, major inconvienience, I wish somebody maybe Jack or IE could ask why the fk they have that, is it to save money or page loading, It's silly, someone should ask, other than that they are good for every dollar and pretty good reliable web site that doesnt ever go down

IIS is International Island Sportsbook. They are affiliated with Rio/Skybook. Since they're not a sponsor here, I'm sure I can't post a link to their site.

They offer reduced juice on NBA and baseball (possibly other sports too, but NBA and baseball is all I'm currently paying attention to). The amount of reduced vig depends on the type of account one holds. For the max $500/bet account type, they offer a 10 cent line on NBA, including game totals and 1st/2nd half sides/totals. For baseball, it's an 8 cent line on sides, 14 cents on totals, and 14 cents on run lines. It's too bad they're not a sponsor here as I think it would benefit everyone involved.
