Frogy-

Im stuck at work and haven't heard anything since the morning papers (which hinted Irbe might get the start). Have you "officially" heard that Weekes is starting again?

Good win but bad one for me.

I will have to re-focus 'cose after doing great in the last month the last couple of days i have made some bad moves: being to agressive, wanting to progress to fast.

Back to basic.

Montreal is going to the finals vs. Detroit IMO.

Last time I looked Montreal was 23-28 on WSEX's future markets. I was debating about buying some shares but wimped out. If I can get them tomorrow for less than 32 I'm going to load up. They will handle Carolina and if they win the series they are worth at least $25 and if they win the East they are worth at least $50.

So assuming they are (say) 30 that means I am getting
4-1 odds on them vs. either Toronto or Ottawa (provided they beat Carolina) and
15-1 odds to win the Stanley Cup.

I work out those odds as follows:
If they cost $30 then the worst I can do is get back $25 but if they win the East I get back $50. So essentially I am risking $5 to win $20 which is 4-1 odds.

Considering they were only 2-1 before tonight to win the Eastern Conference, it sounds good to me.

Good luck Myron.

I'm staying away from those long shuts.

I did take mtl to win that serie but further than that it's just to much of a guess for me, Injuries to key player and hot/cold goally can suddenly turn a serie around and i have no control over the long run on these factors: so i'm stayin away. When this serie is over and if mtl wins, i'll take the $$ from montreal and put back the initial amount on my favorite for th next round.

I'm not saying it does not make sense, i'm just saying not for me.

I just feel in the long run you only get your money back in futures onless you are nostradamus or a close friend to nostradamus.
I would not put more than 1% of my $$ on a future, call me chicken.

GOOD LUCK:)

Not trying to start anything, but the last time you posted you said boldly "whoever wins game 1 will win the series".

That would have meant Carolina, you seem to have changed your mind pretty quickly.

Frogy/1837- great game tonight huh...my heart can't take another one like that on Thurs!!

Carolina is badly outshooting them in every game. Of course it is possible that a team can advance in cases like that (witness Montreal in round 1) but making it past the second or to the finals is extremely unlikely.
