last day in Vegas...not sure how I'm doing here but cashing in big...the FIU over Texas St was a grand slam should of just hopped on a plane and go home..hit the moneyline big and the +8 over my Tex St lad...yesterday won big with Xavier over Texas and almost hit that moneyline too...but the best game this whole weekend will be tonite I think in the CBI quarters finals..don't have my 5'8 index cards in front of me because now you cannot see any white on the card..pure blue with notes crossed out and added on since Dec 12th..
So had to go back to the drawing bd some

West Vir -9 over Coastal ******
I do really good on my "seeing eye" games meaning teams I have seen in person sitting about 10 feet from the court..seen Texas about 8 or 9 times a few in the front the rest in row 31 with Doglover { did you go yesterday} I knew Shacka and co would have trouble with XU..they really should of lost the game because with 40 seconds left they got some home cooking calls..but XU covered and I was happy
Sorry back to Coastal I saw them play Tx St who plays defense and they lost 65-57 and Tx does not have an offensive team..if you look at the games Coastal lost to in the Sun conf they score in the 50's ie UTA..they are led by 6'7 Cuthberton who avgs 18 pts and 8 bds a game ..he has the skinniest legs in the country.. and weighs in at about 170 pounds..they list him at 190...I think the Texas St band played a fight song in front of him and he got blown over by the sound waves,... but he can play..saw him last yr and fell in love with his game...a good shooter, rebounder and unreal passer.. In the Tx game every time he touched the ball Coastal scored he got an assist..the trouble was there were many times he wasn't in the offense..unreal..coach should be fired on the spot..and he;s unselfish..anyway that's all the have..Jones was an avg gd the Swedish kid Dibba was nice..
Huggy's kids are not at the senior prom or junior prom.. think CBI is the soph hop...but he wanted to be in this for extra games and prepare his kids for next year..
He has 2 big kids Culver and West 6'8 and 6'10 inside..he has 3 or 4 gds that play a lot with Bolden as there leader...they don't shoot 3's well FG % is bad FT% bad and defense is not the typical WV defense..they give up 75 Pts a game..but in the last few weeks they have awoken some..they beat Iowa St by 15,beat OU and beat Texas Tech 79-74.. because in those games they rebound and own the paint..so just recently they beat 3 B-12 teams that are at the Senior Prom
Think they own the paint and will dictate the offense.. Coastal defense lost to UL Monroe 80-50 and UL cannot guard their own shadows
West Vir is playing at home and Coastal is 5-10 on the road vs much weaker teams..its Cutherberton inside vs some big boys..West Vir wins this by 15-20 and if your worried like me about Huggy getting his kids up for this quarterfinal game he wanted to play this tournament not like Notre Dame ,Fresno etc who declined.. not sure if there will be a crowd but Culver and West inside ain't looking in the stands when they rebound tonite will post this and play a few more games

BOLDEN left team on March 6th. They have been playing better without him and the other 2 players who were removed earlier. :0008

Buckwheat thanks. My index card would of caught that. I?m sorry. I hate bad info. I fly home in a few hours. My wife when she picks me up will ask me ? how did you do?. I have to tell her I bought prop bets for about 10 people and that took a lot away and pounded West Virginia big. Almost 75% of my winnings is out on. West Virginia. The older I get Aren?t you susposed to get wiser the older you get. Think I missed the big boat on that. Thank you buckwheat

In the area. according to last Thursday's Charleston Gazette the conflict is between a company in ENGLAND and a company in CYPRUS. LOL......Kind of an amateur operation up there to begin with. Pretty sure they were trying to save MONEY by not going with WILLIAM HILL. Mountainner Casino In Chester, WV looks like a first rate operation....I've gone up there to play a couple games and for FUTURES.

Hey Buckwheat....Not to hijack Box's thread but I was born in Wheeling and grew up in Follansbee. Just curious as to where you are?

always love your write-ups Box but I don't think I've ever heard you be more off than you are tonite about West Virginia and Bob Huggins...Never been a fan of his and can't imagine his kids getting up for this kind of game...Not watching the game but they're getting waxed..shooting under 30% in the first half.. hope they turn it around for you in teh second half, but seriously what's the motivation for them here???? Hope you kept some $$$$ for the Mrs....You must have cleaned up on live play over the weekend because checking your "BOXES" it looks like the tourney BOXES were deeply in the negative column...Always appreciate the write-ups and (sometimes) the picks...good luck the rest of the tourney. Who do you see going all the way at this juncture?

No Culver for WVU

No Culver for WVU

Looking at the boxscore, no Culver , that certainly where the difference is tonight.

Handi Capper Alan was on them also, so not just Box missing anything. Crap happens, they are kids. Handi had under on Coastal team total also. But again, tournaments with nothing to play for and betting on West Virginia who was last in their league....oh well, lesson learned :popcorn2

Not a busy day, I'm sure BOX is fine with it. I'll throw in Casino article

https://www.wvgazettemail.com/news/...uZ4jnN__u_zlFvMhWX3LplsRgE6mcUmX73eUdUVthvfeA ;

I'm from Moundsville but didn't go to JMHS graduated from LINSLY and WLSC in the early 70's. Not that familiar with Follansbee people , but know a few from Wellsburg and on down the river.

Cool....I graduated from WLSC/ University in '87 adn had played baseball and football at Brooke. Used to spend a lot of time at the Merrymint Lounge!

JMHS had some good baseball teams back when you played at Brooke.... Tommie Williams and Jana Braniff are 2 from your time at Brooke who I would know. Best of luck for the rest of the tourney.
