NEBRASKA VS. MIZZOU 7:00 EST
The Huskers are coming off two very impressive covers, but are venturing into hostile territory. Mizzou is coming off their bye after suffering their first defeat of the season to the Kansas Jayhawks, and will be in a very foul mood. They put forth a very nonchalant effort in their last home game vs. MTSU, and escaped with the win in OT. I expect QB Smith to really come out firing in this one as his performance in Lawrence was pitiful. Nebraska hasn?t really laid the lumber on anyone yet this season, and look to be ripe for the upset if they don?t bring their ?A? game. HC Pinkel will have his team fired up for this one knowing full well the Huskers pounded his team in his inaugural season.
RECOMMENDATION: MIZZOU (+7)
OHIO STATE VS. WISCONSIN 9:00 EST
The Buckeyes have licked their wounds for 2 weeks now, and have their chance to shut all the naysayers up. Neither of these 2 teams have looked great this year, but I firmly believe the Buckeyes get it done tonight. Their defense is still relentless, and QB Krenzel returns to lead a very precise offense. QB Sorgi?s play has been a bit erratic, and you never really know what to expect whenever he starts. The loss of RB Davis will really take center stage here tonight as the front 7 of the Buckeyes defense will get loads of pressure on Sorgi. Winning by a FG isn?t too much to ask of the defending champs, and they?ll get the job done.
RECOMMENDATION: OHIO STATE (-2)
KANSAS VS. COLORADO 3:00 EST
The Jayhawks come into this game rolling off their bye while the Buffs lost to the Bears of Baylor University. I repeat?BAYLOR!!! Colorado isn?t a good team folks, and they?ve got their hands full with a very pesky Jayhawks squad. HC Mangino?s system is really starting to pay off as KU is playing a real exciting brand of football. This year?s Jayhawk squad eerily reminds me off the squad from 1995 that went on to smoke UCLA in the Aloha Bowl. That year, Kansas got a huge win over Oklahoma then went up to Colorado off their bye and shocked the Buffaloes. KU has looked very solid on both sides of the ball, and I fully expect QB Whittemore to lead them to yet another victory to raise their record to 5-1.
RECOMMENDATION: KANSAS (+6?)
