Well, they did go on the road and win some big games!! Cie, I am looking for input. Looking to make a good thread here. You really think LSU is awesome? I don't! Just my opinion, not starting a bickering fight like most here do!!
I feel that Bama should be ranked #1 right now based on their performance this season, but I see them as a pretender. For the record, I am usually wrong in ncaafb at a 41-47% of the time.
When did I say LSU was awsome? I simply laughed, and laughed heartily, at the comment of the Bama superiority over the rest of the nation. The following teams are clearly more talented than Bama imo:
USC #1 without question
Ohio St
LSU
Florida
Oklahoma
There are others, but these 5 are the top talent teams nationally imo. (BTW, I am interested in what others may think about this.) Please note, talent does not win titles. Just ask USC who has only 1 in their perceived reign of superiority:mj07:
And, since you asked about LSU, this is what I can tell you............
I feel LSU is as experienced, skilled and deep at DL, OL, TE, RB and WR as any team nationally. I feel the OL and DL are both the best nationally.
There is plenty of young talent at CB, and those young guys have played great this season. The safeties - though also talented - scare me, particularly b/c Miles and company are sticking with the wrong rotation back there. LSU played last week without their top LB. The rest of the LB corps is very young, but have proven to be quite skilled outside of the backup middle linebacker, who is a touch slow for my liking.
Although Trindon holliday muffed two punts a couple of weeks ago, I would put him up against anyone as a returner. Keep your lanes or he will whiz past you.
The placekicker is among the best in the nation, although the punter is inconsistent.
Of course, I didn't mention QB because of the huge ???? Sure, Jarret Lee is 2nd in SEC in passer rating (145 or so), but he has only 1 start under his belt. I like the kid, and expect him to contnue to improve, but he doesn't seem to limit mistakes like the 2 recent championship QBs at LSU - Maulk and Flynn.
I am also of the opinion that LSU has one of the best OC in the land, but am nowehere near pleased with Miles' bonehead decision to go with co-defensive coordinators.
I expect LSU to lose 2-3 games this season. UGA, FLA and Bama are possibilities, but any number of other games can lose due to the hole at QB. I hope I am wrong on this.
