2008 home teams were 6-1-1 in preseason.
2007 home teams were 6-2 in preseason.

Calgary was 4-0 vs BC last year and has too much offense even in pre season scoring 39 and 35 in preseason games last year.

Small play:
Calgary(-1) -120 for 60 wins 50

Tales of the tailbacks

How can there be a shortage of tailbacks when as recently as a week ago the Lions had seven of them?
Cut a couple plus lose two others to injury and all of a sudden the Lions will have at least have to think for a second or two who will get the touches when they play the Calgary Stampeders Wednesday.
Rookies Damian Sims and Emmanuel Marc each missed the two sessions Monday with nagging injuries and for awhile Monday coach Wally Buono was unsure who would travel with the club.
At present, they are down to Martell Mallett and Ian Smart for import options, and as a result Nanaimo junior Andrew Harris was at least under consideration. Buono earlier promised Harris he would dress for at least one pre-season game but later suggested that would be the June 23 contest against Edmonton.
And you thought Stefan Logan wasn't going to be missed.
With a short week before their first game -- a walkthough is the only item on the agenda Tuesday -- you had several veterans shutting it down to rest nagging hurts. Geroy Simon caught most of the attention as he was nursing a charley horse, when in fact he was no more worse for wear than Korey Banks and Dante Marsh, who also took it easy.
This team clearly needs a game in order to provide more clues on the large number of starting spots and backup openings. At the rate this is going they also might need a tailback or two as well.

Finally, a real opponent looms on the horizon

By Stamps Insider

Day 9 of training camp is done, and the players can?t wait for an actual game.
The same applies to head coach John Hufnagel.
?I?m very excited,? Hufnagel said, looking forward to the game (albeit exhibition) Wednesday against the B.C. Lions. ?I mean, the guys have practised hard. It?s time to get on the field and play against somebody else.
?Let?s get that intensity level high and then find out what type of team we may have. It?s early in the season. Obviously, there are a lot of questions out there that need to be answered.?
The questions are minor compared to those facing the powers that be in Winnipeg, Saskatchewan and Toronto (just to name a few.) But there are jobs up for grabs on the defensive line. A speedy kick returner could dazzle his way onto the team. And solid contributions on special teams are always the ticket for employment when it comes to young Canadians fresh out of the draft.
At quarterback, Henry Burris and Barrick Nealy are entrenched in the starter and backup jobs. But the role of clipboard holder is up for grabs between Drew Tate and Matt D?Orazio.
?You have to make your decisions in a short amount of time,? Hufnagel said. ?You base it a lot from what you see in practice. But the game also carries a lot of weight. You don?t want to see anybody hide when the lights go on? ?If you screw up in a game, you probably have to move on.?
Notes: The Stampeders released linebacker Brett Sturm. The list of the wounded includes DL Tom Johnson (calf), RB Demetris Summers (hamstring), safety Milton Collins (hamstring), WR Ken-Yon Rambo (hamstring), WR Brett Ralph (hamstring) and OL Jeff Pilon (knee, shoulder). OL Jesse Newman (ankle) remains on the disabled list.

I had line but didn't play any games.

Pre-season is behind us and the real deal is coming up next week.

Finally real football is back, not the crap americans play on Sundays.:mj07:

Ok maybe not but it gives me MORE than my football fix until Sept.

Kinda feel the same way Kegray. Just wish there was more exposure to see some games on TV.

Would really like to see them expand to about 12 or 16 teams and like hockey have some franchises in the states...but the NFL would probably never let that happen.

Every game can be seen online for free more than likely. Games will be on here for sure.

They were on the states once and it didn't work.
