0-3, -300 starting in second round.

A tough day yesterday but I have two plays for Wednesday.

Arsenal vs. DEPORTIVO LA CARUNA Draw +240 100/240

According to the latest reports French striker Thierry Henry should be available at least off the bench, giving Arsenal enough firepower to match up here. It is hard to bet any side away at the top team in La Liga but I think Arsenal has enough to get the draw here if Henry is available.

FC Porto vs. PATHINAIKOS Draw +235 100/235

Pathinaikos has been a defensive machine at home. Porto barely got through the first phase on the strength of a big away victory at Rosenborg. I expect a very defensive showing looking for the draw in a hostile environment here.

The one thing you have to know about the Champions' League is that it is the hardest thing to bet on. I have lost so much money in the past 2 years on it, it is remarkable. Whatever looks good never is, that is why I have been doing a lot better in the latter half of this year.

Smart Picks tonight would be: Deportivo to get the home win vs. an injury plagued Arsenal.
Secondly, Real Madrid on the road in Prague might just be the answer.
Leverkusen and Juventus look to be a draw.
Panathiniakos should also be victorious in a 1-0 win over Porto.

Good Luck!

1-2, -165 today. 1-5, -465 overall.

I made an error in playing big on Pathinaikos last night. Proto generated almost no offense but as expected they played a good enough defensive game to gain a point. Bad week this week. I am probably going to play fewer games next week and try to get back in the black slowly.

One thing i have been doing this week is picking two games and placing equal amounts on each game to draw. With such high odds on the draw, a split still picks up a nice sum.
I figure you guys would do better with it thatn i cause i am just blindly picking and have just been lucky so far.
But if Nick stays with his first two picks, he makes money.

Hope this doesn't sound too stupid or anything. I appreciate you guys posting!

thisisbad,

I think that is an OK strategy. Just remember that this ended up being a good week for draws as 3 of 7 matches ended in draws. Usually you won't see that high percentage and this week it was an injury time goal by Roma and a 87' goal by Bayern Munich that gave draws in games that easily could have been wins for Galatasray and Man U. I do think that is a good strategy if used carefully.
