i guess they also sell leads like some businesses do?

we have a few that we try to give to regularly...not much,but a little...purple heart/paralyzed vets/the aspca...

with the japanese disaster and a few other things we gave a couple dollars(very little) to them....and now we`re getting stuff from every boys town, mission and indian tribe under the sun....

i`m not just talking mailers...i`m talking phone calls....probably going to have to unlist my number...

anybody else getting an inordinate number of charity requests of late?

it`s not a big deal in the larger scheme of thingsl, but it becomes a real annoyance after a while...

Above the Clouds....
I got an email a few weeks back showing what the heads of some organizations bring home every year and it was hundreds of thousands. If I remember Unicef, Who and The United Way were the top abusers with their heads getting well over $500,000/yr. (I didn't research it just read the email)

On the other side the that did the most good were the ones associated with wounded warriors and veterns. The people that run those don't collect a cent so you know where I send my donations.

My wife buys mass cards from the church and I bet we get 1-2 requests a day from churches I never heard of. Don't get me started.

Same here, started with the disabled vets, Susan Koman and another couple. Obviously, they trade names and numbers. We changed emails and phone numbers to get the grip on this. I still give to the causes I believe in. I just use a money order that can't be tracked back to us.

That sucks if they are selling the information. Information that becomes public domain is also a problem. We setup a Sales Tax ID and the next day had 4 different calls offering to set us up with credit card machines.
