Anyone know anything about Sir Charles betting a half million on the Super Bowl? I heard that it was bet on the Pats and the bet was placed at the Mandalay Bay.

On the course!
$500,000 +14 and another $50,000 ML

I guess the head man at Mandalay's book lost his job over the wager, because he did not get approval from the bosses upstairs to book the bets. Also, Sir Charles made the bets "on the cuff". (never signed a marker, or left any cash!)

.......Would have been nice to see if he would have paid the $600,000, had he lost!

He'd pay! Even though he's an idiot he's still an Alabama Boy and for that Matter an Auburn Boy! We always make good on our bets!

But he's still an idiot!

I'll put some action on him being our governor one day:rolleyes:

Can anyone help? I am wondering what payout was for that ML bet and the 1/2 mil wager did have a payout of 100/110...right?

On the moneyline bet he was paid 5-1, picked up $250,000. Won $500,000 on the other bet.
Even though Charles had 500,000 line of credit at Mandalay Bay the problem was he didn't sign a marker. They chased him down at MGM but he wouldn't agree to cancel his bets even though he didn't sign for them. Mandalay Bay was caught in limbo not knowing if they should lower line to 13 1/2 to attract Ram money to offset the $500,000.

Could Mandalay Bay have legally voided those tickets before the game started?

No..............he had the tickets from their machine, and they punched them up. Like their rules state:

"Once you leave the counter, your ticket stands."
