Interesting reading at rec.gambling.poker

You should scroll back and start with "POKER CHEATING INTERVIEW PART 1" and catch up to the discussion. They're up to part 12 now.

Very sad, to say the least. Maybe Nolan can shed some more 'inside' light about this interview, but my mind is about made up.

Some well known poker names are brought up, some well known poker names are participating in the discussion, some act as though they believe it, some are acting as though it's blown out of proportion......who knows?

They are saying that casino employees are involved, casino management knows about it, hundreds and hundreds of players have been involved. It's sickening, if you ask me.

If 'the house' covers up cheating in the poker room, does it end there, or is there shit going on in the casino that is/has been covered up as well? You'd 'think', with all the money we know the house makes, that they wouldn't put up with this crap, but when there's money involved....

I'm just very disappointed in what I'm reading over there. Hopefully, something good will come out of all this, but I don't know what.

just talking out loud here....

I didn't read any of the articles but wouldn't the casino commision be in tune to any cheating. If the articles, at google, touch on this just tell me to read the the damn things.

Scrubbo,

one of the articles I read stated that in tournament cheating, because the actual player wronged couldn't be named, and the casino itself wasn't cheating or being cheated, that the commission had no interest in this kind of cheating.

This type of cheating involved obtaining tournament chips and adding them to your stack when tables changed over, so as to make it to the final table...

I'm sure the gaming commision would be very interested in casino's own involvement in scams.

cheers

He Hate Me:

Just so you know, it was Mike Caro and I that did the initial investigation with the three principals who are now exposing the cheating scandals. You can see the course of events if you plow through the hundreds of posts on RGP. I (and Mike) chose not to go through with the interview (exposing the cheats) because they did not agree to our terms. It had nothing to do with protecting "freinds" or associates. Anyone that knows me (or Mike) knows we put nothing above issues of integrity.

I dont doubt that you are an honest guy,I just think you are a little bit intimidated.Poker is full of collusion and niggardly tactics on the low and high levels, that player of the year Men the Master he loves to put players in tournaments and have them dump chips to him,I would put an asterisk by that award.Tournament directors always give decisions to the people they know and our locals, they are gutless for the most part.I wont play outside of California because I would die of lung cancer,I am sure there are some honest games here and there but from what I see you have internet games full of collusion, you have tournaments full of chip dumping to backers, and you possibly have marked cards on the real high stakes game, not to mention lung cancer risks.

Tell it like it is in that magazine you write for, print my post if you want.
