Hello,

This is Mike Volpe. As owner of Brand X Sports, I always made sure to keep my personal life and business life separate.
After Tuesday September 11, 2001, that is no
longer possible.
My friend, Tom Dennis, who worked for the bond firm of Cantor Fitzgerald in One Trade Center is missing and presumed lost. Tom and I have been friends since we met in eighth grade in 1971. We spent our entire teen and adult lives together, were in each other's wedding parties and a share a base of friends and family that stretch back more
than thirty years.
Tom has left his wife, Kathy, also a friend since childhood, and two small children, Lauren six years old and Tom Jr., four years old. One World Trade Center was the only United States
based office of Cantor Fitzgerald. As of 1 PM ET Thursday, 900 of the 1000 employees of the company are reported missing. Due to the total devastation of Cantor Fitzgerald, Tom's insurance through the company may be in jeopardy.

I am asking for your help. I will release a full year of my service, from September 11, 2001 to September 11, 2002, of my 900 line games,Late Service and Wise Guy service in ALL SPORTS, well over $20,000 worth of picks, in return for a $25 donation to the Tom Dennis Fund.

ALL of the moneys received between today and
September 19 will go directly to Kathy Dennis.

For those of you who do not wager on sports, all donations will be appreciated. I will be glad to give the picks to anyone you might want to suggest in your stead.

Even if you do not chose to donate the $25 I want to thank you in advance for your time and patience to read this.

You can use your credit card or personal check by clicking here http://www.brandxsports.com/indexorder.htm

God Bless America.

Mike Volpe

ust got this in my mailbox today:

Tuesday September 18, 2001

Good Morning,

This is Mike Volpe owner of Brand X Sports. First let me
thank everyone who bought the year service for $25 this
past weekend. More than $3700 dollars were raised.
I sent the money to Kathy yesterday to use as she deems fit.
A great, great job by you all.

To the so many of you who called or emailed yesterday,
who missed the chance to donate, here is the letter
I promised.

This letter was written by Andy Friedwald, who has
been my friend since Mrs. Fass' class in fourth grade. Like me,
he first met Tom when Tom arrived at RC Murphy JHS in 1971. Andy
was a great friend to Tom and his business mentor. Please take
the time to read what he has to say and thanks once again for
your great support.

If you decide to give something, please send all donations
to Andy. His address is given at the end of the email.

The following was written by Andrew Friedwald,
a friend of Tom Dennis:

"I have always been one of the fortunate.
I never lost someone close to
me. This disaster wiped out the whole department
of Cantor Fitzgerald that I called family. These guys
were 25-45 years old. They each had at least
two kids and young wives. They were the most generous,
thoughtful, fun loving people the world has known. They
were great fathers, husbands ,sons and
friends. Three of my closest friends Glen Wall,
Matty O'Mahoney and Tom Dennis are amongst the missing. T
hey no doubt were making someone laugh when
the plane hit.

Tom loved his job at Cantor . With his huge laugh and
endless wit he was universally loved. Tom made everyone
feel important. When you became his friend, it was for a
lifetime. He took the time to listen and made all our
lives a little better. There is little doubt that in the
end he did what he could to save someone else?s life.

Tom never had it easy. He lost his Dad
when he was a young boy. He moved to Stony Brook, NY
in 8th grade and we have been best friends ever since.
When he was 20 he got into a horriffic car
accident that marked the beginnning of 20 operations to
save his life and let him walk again. Nobody could have
survived that car accident. Tom did.He was in constant
pain but told no one.

His first break in life came when he met his wife Kathy.
The world doesn't know the love these two have. He has
a beautiful daughter Lauren who is 6 and a son Tommy jr.
who is 4. He lived only for these people.

We need to help Tom's family. The losses everyone is
feeling are immeasurable. There are thousands of families
that will grieve a lifetime. There are countless children
without parents ,lives without partners, and parents
without children. If everyone left standing focuses on one way
to help we can help rebuild.

My mission is to help this family. We have started a fund
called the Tom Dennis Memorial Trust.
Lets raise as much money as possible to help Kathy and her
children. This is just one life, but he was truly an angel
that God sent to us. Knowing Tom it is very easy to open
up your hearts and your checkbook because he was the most
generous person we ever knew.

If you are able, please write the checks to
The Tom Dennis Memorial Trust and send them
to the attention of

Andrew Friedwald
17 Meadow Lane
Purchase, N.Y.
10577.

Please take the liberty to forward this to
anyone you think may want to help. Our family
wishes you and yours the very best this world can
offer.

God Bless all of you and this Country."

Please don't send money to this guy if you are going to donate, dontate to a reputable
organization such as Red Cross.
I searched the killed or missing list on usatoday.com and none of the three people he
mentions above are on the list includeding Tom Dennis. Is there any agency we can
report this potential fraud to? This is really upsetting.

FInd something better to do is a suggestion, if someone is stupid enough to give him money via donations then they deserve to lose their money

This is my story, when I started betting I found this guy page, I gave him a call and oh my god. His hock is "25 dlls for my today?s selections if I lost you get the entire season free". I was 18 and I told my father lets call him. When I was on the phone he ask some questions and how much do I bet on any game and I told him between 50 and 100 and the last thing he said was "call me when you bet for real". I didnt care and I used my father?s credit card he went 2-1, but he have this stupid super system and I lost instead of won. Then I need to wrote him more than 5 mails telling him that he had lost and I want my complete season free. After 4 or 5 days he e-mail me his selections, but OH SURPRISE SURPRISE, he sent me only his 5* selections, is I want the 10* I will need to send him like 250.

Also on his page he have how much money you had made if you were betting his picks with his super system. Well since the first time I log on into his page the number is the same. Also he is sponsor by an sportsbooks and he recommend it. Well I must be crazy if I were a sportsbook and I paid to a guy who will always give winners.

This bastard just goes to prove that human forms of vermin show up everywhere, not just as freaks from other countries, like Osama.

I love America. I assume this worthless piece of cow's dung is an American. He is a great advertisement for the end of racism.

These snivelling, miserable tossers come in every colour and nationality, let's remember that.

Jack: good work for keeping this thread up. It's only by exposing these degrading, worthless pricks that we can protect the unwary.

I work on Wall Street and I lost friends. It's hard to imagine anyone stooping lower than this cockroach.

Let's donate to the families through the reputable charities.

Peace to all of us decent human beings, death to the few who cause such misery and grief, and to those who seek to profit from it.

Are there any attorneys in the house? We need to seriously think about filing a complaint at this guy's local circuit court's office. I too looked at the names of the missing, and this "Tom Dennis" IS NOT listed!! I still can't believe this specimen posted this chit. I had to read it 3 different times for it to sink in my head.

Is this not some sort of mail fraud or something? I couldn't live with myself if I didn't do something. Anyone??

Just want to clarify that this is not me that is sending these emails. They are emails I recieved from this Mike Volpe character. I sent this to Cantor Fitzgerald and they said they will look into it. They have so many other problems though they may not have time for this matter.

Just a thought guys..

Have you considered going to a journo/newspaper with this? If I was a journo (er, which I am, but not in the US) looking for a story out of the rubble of all this tragedy (which they all are), this would certainly get massive reader numbers and reaction.
Of course, they'd have to do the legwork and ensure that there is no Tom Dennis. But that would be a simple task for a big paper with plenty of legal assistance.
If this guy is trying to make a quick buck from the horror of recent events, publicity on his scheme would be the worst possible thing to happen to him.

Make sure ya let ole Mike know how much ya appreciate his kindness......

I make my living by getting paid for my advice. I have given myself some advice and will offer the same to anyone who cares to take it. I have been walking around in a daze since losing a friend in the attack and watching those damn towers collaspe before my eyes. It is time to stop feeling sorry for ourselves and worrying about what is going to happen next and time to get mad. I am going to honor Tom's memeory by throwing my support behind the country to do whatever it has to do for as long as it has to, to make sure this never happens again. That is what I am going to do from this second on. You should too.

Wow - more than $20,000 worth of his plays for just $25. What a deal! Maybe I'll just take Nolan's for FREE! What a scum - I'd rather contribute $25 to help pay an attorney to sue his ass.
