If you are planning on retiring in the next ten years get out now.

They are about to blow this thing up again.

Dow 5000.

I pulled half of my retirement out and put it into a 401k that I created (with the help of accountants and lawyers, of course) with no penalties or having to pay taxes, and I am going to invest it in a company I will be starting in the spring.

Actually, I can invest the money in anything I want but I am using it to buy a franchise.

I can rollover money from my other retirement account to mine at any time, all or part, without penalties or taxes as well.

They have been saying that for 3 years. Meanwhile it's done nothing but go up.

Weasie, I'll let everybody know what I decided on once it's 100% official.

My signature has been on every paycheck of mine since 1981, I can't ever imagine having it any other way.

Good luck to me :0008

as a guy who is sitting around getting 2.65% on c.d.`s(and that`s a good rate nowadays...used to getting 5.5) ,i take my hat off to you..

i`m losing money....we`ve had thousands of dollars in vet bills this year....just paid 3 grand in property taxes...200 a pop to renew drivers licenses... home owners` ins......quarterly tax bills...

you feel like you`re getting picked apart little by little....it just never ends..

there was a time when i was thinking about gold, but everyone kept expecting it to plateau.....bad move on my part....i was ready jump in...and i double clutched...

sometimes playing it safe is a bad idea....

i really hope it works out for you.....guys like you are the straws that stir the drink in this country....:toast:

I wasn't trying to knock 401K returns in any particular time--just think it is great site to find how your company ranks with others.

Wifes company fruit of the loom was bought by warren buffet--don't expect them to be cash strapped for a while. :)
