Coming into town for MLK weekend. Which part of downtown should we stay(group of 6-8) that would make the most things within walking distance. Basically a casual weekend with shopping, dining, maybe a wrigly tour if they do it that time of year, or anything else that is a "can't miss". Any other general information that you think would be helpful for first timers would be greatly appreciated:toast:

To be quite honest, everything is obtainable from public transportation so you aren't forced to stay in the downtown area, although it is pretty awesome.

Stayed at the Hotel Felix in August when I was in chi town for the foo fighters concert at wrigley & would recommend staying there.

& for dining Gibson's is a great steakhouse to check out. A bit pricey but well worth it.

I suggest Hotwire to the neighborhood you want ... then I can give you Uber and Lyft codes to give your group free rides ... just give me a shout

In was looking for a post that I wrote about on this about a year back in things to do but can't find it.

If you do Hotwire and pick river north and play with the parameters, it will give you the "w" hotel, right on the lake, a couple of blocks from Michigan avenue and close to The original Gino's east. It will cost $65ish per night.

It's not Hotwire , it's Priceline.

And you don't have to know how to skate and this is pretty awesome at night. It's a rink and a ribbon

Enjoyed our trip. Lots of good food, but Shaws Seafood was incredible. Very clean, people were very friendly, and I can honestly say that there was never any point that anything even seemed sketchy. Obviously that is about where you are, but we did a lot of walking and this is the first major city I have been to that I could say that. Did the signature room for drinks, took in a bulls game, stopped by the zoo, hit several malls(the ladies), hung out at navy pier, stopped by "The Bean", hit giordanos, and much more. Stayed at Courtyard by Marriott (River North) and would recommend it to anyone.

Great Trip:toast:

My wife and her sister went to Chicago and said the same thing,,,Said it was the cleanest city she had ever seen,,Obviously this had to do with the area she was in...But she loved it!
