Chiefs broadcaster Jim Nantz made the assertion, a couple of times, that any time the Chiefs are down exactly 10 points, they win; he claimed Chiefs were 11-0 when that happened. I've heard this repeated, subsequently, on a few podcasts famous for their lack of fact-checking (obviously). I could have let this go with the one example I remembered, but I've found a second so down with CBS!
Anyways, you don't have to go back far to find them down 10 points and subsequently losing. Their last loss--Christmas 2023--saw them down at home to the Raiders at halftime, 17-7. Chiefs lost 20-14.
Earlier case was that example of the only time a team lost a game while scoring 50-plus, back in 2018, week 11. Chiefs were down 40-30 after Ebukam's pick-6 near the end of the 3rd quarter. Chiefs lost 54-51.
Chiefs have enough goofy records without making up this LeBron stuff.
