Make sure your cat aint missing for a few days before you order one!

A chinese joint here in town got shut down a couple of years ago for serving non USDA type meat:nono:

I just order Rice!

. . . . as long as the waiter is Chinese I have no problem. If it's some 18 year old blonde with blue eyes I can't do it with a straight face. :p

A guy asked me yesterday 'how come all the disciples had American names?'

To answer your question, a "pupu platter" is not a Chinese dish at all. It is simply a Hawaiian way of saying appetizer, finger food if you will. Sometimes it is a larger serving than the norm. Could be mainland staples like chicken wings or onion rings, or island favorites such as chicken katsu, sashimi (raw fish Japanese-style), fried calamari, or teriyaki steak.

gecko, thanks for the insight. I was always curious as to what it was but I never hear anyone order it or even mention it.

It sounds pretty good except for the raw stuff. I think the next time I order over the phone I can disguise my voice so they can hook me up with some extra viddles.

Also, when you get a chance, come pick me up in Texas and take me back to Hawaii with you. I always wanted to meet a hula dancer. :)

hey Felonious,

If I make my way to Austin again, I'll let ya know. Only time I been there was 13 yrs ago, when I was a student at Tulane, my friends and I made a road trip to UT. Nice campus. On the way we got pulled over for speeding in one of them small Texas towns by a cop and he cited and jailed my bud who was driving the car. We had to bail him out. Had heard about cops doing that in those parts and got to actually experience it firsthand. :)
