We'll be Petrino'n by Friday

Do you think it will be harder to pull a big time coach in with some of the NCAA stuff going on with the recruiting. IMO it's a great job from day one if the right guy comes in. They've done a good job recruiting, at least according to the ranking experts.

There really isn't anything going on with recruiting. They already investigated Javon Robinson grade changing 3 months ago. The "story" released last week was a good PR move by Yahoo because it was the one week this year anyone gives a shit about this AU team. But if you read that story and then read the actual story published 3 months ago, you'll see the only new information out there is that "Javon got rides to Auburn from his teacher who is an AU fan" - not the same faculty member accused of grade changing by the way.

This is a secondary infraction and those get tagged on schools every year. The way our recruiting class is looking anyways we won't fill out scholly allotment this year regardless.

As for taking people off the recruiting trail - the reasons not stated in yahoo/al.com articles were that Trooper/Luper (luper in particular) had begun recruiting kids to other schools that they were likely going to be employed at, after being notified post-Vandy game that the staff wouldn't be returning next year.

Trooper is actually making a play to stay on with the next staff by voluntarily going back out on the recruiting trail to try to keep this class intact. He's only receiving buyout checks at this point, but many would like to see him stay on one more year for this recruiting class and to help the next staff put together their first class. And a REAL head coach of a football team could keep his towel-waving antics under control, according to most people.

I don't think anything related to NCAA "investigations" will hinder the process of sending Bobby an orange and blue harley and scantily clad co-ed. Our compliance department is top notch
