Marc Stein reported Friday that Houston Rockets point guard Chris Paul was expected to miss an extended period of time due to a knee injury suffered in October. Paul, 32, has battled a variety of injuries throughout his career, but this new knee problem could keep him sidelined for a month. Chris Paul has only played one game in a Rockets uniform this season.
Paul played 33 minutes, scored 4 points and recorded 11 assists and 8 rebounds in his highly anticipated debut with the Rockets on Tuesday. He was ruled out for Wednesday?s game versus Sacramento and has now been ruled out for a second straight game in Saturday?s home opener versus Dallas.
This is definitely disheartening for the Rockets as well as for Paul, who has always had some difficulty staying on the court. The team is hoping that the bruised knee he sustained in a preseason game is not that serious. It could be worse with the way the NBA season has started so far, with key players Jeremy Lin and Gordon Hayward suffering serious season-ending injuries. The Rockets are hopeful the future Hall of Famer can stay healthy and return to the court soon.
