There'll be lots of incentive for some of the fringe players on the PGA Tour to play well this weekend in Greensboro, N.C. Only four tournaments remain until the season-ending Tour Championship, as players try to get in the top 125 on the money list and keep their PGA Tour cards for 2007.
Chris Riley is just one of the names currently outside the Top 125 on the PGA Tour money list and in risk of losing his full exempt status. He's earned $485,608 this year, good for 141st on the money list. The purse this week totals $5 million, with the winner receiving $900,000. The runner-up will get $540,000, with the third-place finisher pocketing $340,000.
Riley is getting 66/1 odds to win the The Chrysler Classic of Greensboro at Forest Oaks Country Club. Riley won the 2002 Reno-Tahoe Open, and finished T5th in this year's Valero Texas Open.
Here are a few more names of those on the bubble in the PGA.
125 Lee Westwood $630,566
126 Jonathan Kaye $571,634 (100/1)
127 Jeff Overton $569,212
