My father-in-law is a cigar smoker and was wondering what would be a good box of smokes to get him? Hoping that some of y'all can steer me in the right direction. Thanks!!

...actually, scotty-boy, taoist does enjoy a good cigar from time to time. :)

in2fitness,

I don't know how much you are looking to spend, but this is a great idea for cigar smokers....

Cigar of the Month Club

...if that's more than you want to spend, then my some of my personal favorite brands are: Cohiba, Romeo y Julieta, Partagas, Montecristo, and Macanudo.

...if he has a specific brand that he likes, you might want to get him a box of those.

...also, there are several samplers that you could choose from.... hope that this helps a little.

Happy Holidays!!! :)

I'd recommend:

Montecristo
Romeo y Julieta
Partagas

All can be found in the U.S. but not from original cuban make. My favorite would be Romeo y Julieta but I'm partial because the ones I have are cuban smuggled somehow. I didn't buy them so don't send Homeland Security my way. Down in Miami you get a lot of fakes posing as original cuban cigars. There are equally good ones from Santo Domingo, etc.

Also a good Colibri lighter would be nice.

The Best: OpusX, You will have to look Hard in Atlanta for these, expensive but good. I been staying with Julieta Black for the last few months. Good burn and love the taste. Not as expensive as the X but a Qualitity smoke. There is Plenty of good Gars that a little cheaper, thos are my favorite two.

It all depends on what you want to spend. I am a cigar distributor and have found that for the price, most of my folks like to Macanudo and R&J(Romeo y Julieta). These are the best for the money. If you want to get nice, like someone said, you cannot go wrong with the Montecristo.

I'm an H Upmann kind of guy myself, but also enjoy romeo y julietas, partagas, CAO and Cohibas.

Not suprised that Macanudo sells like they do. They are the Coors light of cigars. Like smoking air if you ask me. Give me a fuller bodied cigar anytime over a Macanudo or the lighter cigars.

Before you buy anything, you might ask someone if they know what particular brand he smokes, that way you don't buy a too strong or too light of a smoke.

Wilson I hope you were kidding. I smoke good cigars and if my son in law got me a box of swisher sweets I'd Swish those fcukers down yhe bowl and then kick him in his fruity ass and smack my dumbass daughter for bringing him around.

Brother works for Swisher....I have some of his stuff at Partys so they don't smoke my sticks. Cigar.com has OpusX but way too pricer than I pay.

Thanks for all the help y'all, I really appreciate it! I tried talking to my mother-in-law about it, but I probably could have got more information talking to a wall. It looks like almost everyone mentioned the Romeo y Julieta, so I think I'll go with a box of those.

One more quick question, he travels a lot and I saw what looks like a pretty decent deal on a travel humidor in Playboy this month. I was wondering if anyone thinks this is a good deal? travel humidor

Thanks again for everything!!
