TAMPA, Florida - The postponed NFL exhibition game between the Cincinnati Bengals and Tampa Bay Buccaneers has been rescheduled for Monday night at Raymond James Stadium.
The contest, originally scheduled for Saturday, was postponed Friday by the Tampa Sports Authority because of the threat of Hurricane Charley, the worst storm to hit Florida in a dozen years.
While the hurricane veered south of the Tampa area and wreaked its worst damage on Charlotte County, TSA officials believed it would not have enough law enforcement and emergency personnel available to staff the game on the weekend.
The Tampa area was largely unaffected by the storm, which caused widespread damage to coastal areas in the state.
