St Peters +12.5 over Purdue **
Hard to believe Peter is still alive and Kentucky with possibly the best player in college basketball] Oscar T at home watching tonight on TV.
Pre-season in most polls 2nd 5th 9th in MAAC Peter knocked off the mighty Kentucky in overtime. To advance in the sweet 16. If they didn't win the MAAC tourney they were going NIT And I played and lost taking the -18 Kentucky . But I did redeem myself taking Peter over Murray St although my thought process was Peters heads would be so swollen the Racers would blow them out. Knowing my MAAC conf I see Peter getting beat by Siena Rider and and Iona in conference games. Peter has been the doormat of the MAAC for years, But they always played great defense Dunn their coach left 2 years ago for Marist and Pt gd Holloway from Seton Hall took over as coach and last yr was the MAAC coach of the year.
Peter ranks in the 286ths.246.290's and 213 ths in Pt scored.FG%,FT%.etc. So how are they in the sweet 16. Defense they rank 24th giving up 62 points a game ,18th in FG% Defense and def rebounding But those stats were against the Fairfieds,Canisius's Niagara's etc
Tonite they will see the best gd they have seen all year in Ivy but the other day they saw the best Fd-center in Oscar T. He did score 30 pts and owned the bds but Peacocks shut everyone else down Peter doesn't have one starter that could start for Purdue . All of Peter players didn't get the St Johns,Iona, Hofstra's offers to play ball there.
My brain says Purdue blows them out because Purdue did lose last year in round 1 vs North Texas as an 18 point favorite . What North Texas and Peter have in common is they both play excellent defense. Peter's offense in the MAAC is about 6th or 7th . But think Purdue does win this but Peter keeps it close and scares those Indiana boys . My favorite line is about Peter there coach saying " I've got most of my players from NY and New Jersey,so you think my guys are scared". Think the slipper won't fit tonight but I am jumping on the Peter Train getting those dozen points .not a big play and maybe a homer play for me but if Peter gets overwhelmed by Ivy and co it was a good ride despite me getting at the Kentucky stop
Miami -3 over Iowa St ****
Love this game . Canes gds are so good

Texas ladies -5 over Ohio St ***
Texas plays full court defense and has Harmon who is a great point gd Love watching the girls team at Texas. Ohio also plays pressure defense but think Schaefer who has now won 14 straight games with a winning margin of 14 pts continues

PA proud
Oscar went to school where I'm from. Kennedy catholic. They won state title in PA with him and Sagaba Kanote (who played at WVU and short stint with the Toronto raptors last year).

That backcourt was insane.

Good call on st petes box.

Box,

Been following your plays?somewhere between cursorily and avidly?since about 2003, my freshman year in high school . I think MJ was actually the first forum I ever followed/joined(?). I?ve had a love/hate, up/down, wise/degenerate relationship with gambling over the ensuing ~ two decades. I suppose the same could be said for my relationship to college hoops. Lately (these last couple years or so), in my older wiser age, I?ve been off the gambling almost entirely, but often checking in just for posterity. ?

This weekend I find myself in the middle of rural Iowa on a little adventure with an old friend, and it seems as though the two primary draws here (imports/exports if you will xstop) are methamphetamine and casinos smack dab in the middle of cities. I?ll likely pass on the former, but since I?m here, the latter is calling my name, aligning directly with March Madness and all. So for kicks, or good measure, or nostalgia, or dedication to a younger more whimsical age?whatever may have you, I?m determined to throw a couple stacks down on one of these games, either today or tomorrow! And so?

If push came to shove and I had to bet my life savings on one college hoops game, I?d wait for one of your ******** (or more) plays and be able to watch calmly. Alas, this won?t be my life savings, push hasn?t actually come to shove, per se, and really I?m just here to revel in the sportsbook for the weekend. But you bet your ass I?m rolling with your best play, seeing as though I?ve been a fairly passive observer of college ball this year myself. Surely I won?t really hold it against you, but the figurative pressure is on! I need your play of the weekend and, ideally, the best logic you can provide for it, and I?ll ride or die on the gut of my high school college hoops icon! :toast::0corn:toast:
