didnt he transfer to Duke

Lynchburg, VA (Sports Network) - Seeking a higher level of competition, guard Seth Curry, the younger brother of Davidson star Stephen Curry, called Liberty basketball coach Ritchie McKay and indicated his intentions to transfer to Duke University.

"I received a call from Seth today and he told me he decided on transferring to Duke," stated McKay on Sunday. "My immediate reaction was what a great opportunity for Seth. Duke is a program rich in tradition with not only one of the greatest head coaches of all time, but an impressive staff, as well. I am excited that Seth will be able to fulfill his desires at a place as prestigious and successful as Duke."

Curry led the nation's freshmen in scoring (20.2) while carrying Liberty to a 23-12 record and a postseason berth in the inaugural CIT this past season. The Big South freshman of the year will have to sit out the 2009-10 season for Duke, which was bounced from the NCAA Tournament by Villanova in the Sweet 16.

Yes He Did.

Archive "Duke didn't waste any time sulking over its Sweet 16 loss to Villanova Thursday night in Boston. Instead, the Blue Devils picked up the most coveted transfer available when the nation's top scoring freshman, Seth Curry of Liberty, decided to transfer to Duke for next season.

Curry's father, Dell, told ESPN.com Sunday night after a visit to Durham earlier in the day that Seth was offered a scholarship by the Blue Devils and accepted. Curry, who averaged 20.2 points a game for the Flames this past season, will sit out the 2009-10 season and be eligible for 2010-11 as a third-year sophomore. A source close to the Blue Devils confirmed the transfer offer was made and accepted."

Not only did Curry leave, but Anthony Smith graduated who was Liberty's second all time leading scorer, so you have a new backcourt. Despite that, they only lost by 4 to George Mason last week and only lost by 5 at Clemson last year.

I agree Clemson is probably the play, but it is just very hard for me to commit more than $20 to any of these early season crapshoots. I think I might tease it down with a later game just to have something to do:mj07:

I work at home, so me and my dog will start drinking a few beers early today:0corn
