Clemson...-3
This matchup favors Clemson...Larry Shyatt
has to beat his brains out all year every year to win ACC games...last year he had a marginal team that also had some chemistry problems...the problems are gone!...plus the returning players are used to his way of doing things...
LaSalle..IMO has to be adjusting to Billy Hahn and his new system...they can't be ready to play a strong opponent this early in the season...strong lean on Clemson and you don't have to buy the farm!..i'll spot the three points and take Clemson!...good luck tonight guys...
also, playing ND, Illinois, and Buffalo

I would really hesitate in calling Clemson "a strong opponent."

Not that I disagree with your play, but I see these 2 teams as pretty comparably average.

Good luck!

NJO---Its an Average ACC team vs a traditionally below average Atlantic 10 team.
Early in the basketball season ..I refer to these types of games as "conference" plays.
On saturday I won the following games w/ this strategy in mind:
Akron (+6) wins outright over Iona..the MAC is the better conference IMO...
George Mason (+3) wins outright over Niagra..
Colonial is the the better conference..George Mason has solid year last year..
Marist beats Columbia...easy decision there
Evansville beats Youngstown State
I did lose the NC Wilmington game vs Miami of Ohio..w/ this theory..but that was my only loss...
hope this helps justifying what i'm trying to say...its seems to be effective strategy early in the season than later (in January and February..)..crib

it's kind of a risky play at this stage of the season but i'm going to go a unit on the tigers also. clemson will probably take their licks in the acc again this year but they should be a little ahead of lasalle at this point. shyatt added a good recruiting class this past year and has two returning all-acc freshmen. loss of solomon probably a good thing in the overall scheme of things as young tigers had a tendency to lay back and rely on him too much i think. lasalle lost three players from last year's team who all had over a thousand career points. that's a lot to replace with a new coach and system coming in. alao, lasalle played last night while clemson rested.

anyone who's interested remember it's a 5:30 game.

Butler decides this game...easily the best player on the floor, and no answer defensively on Clemons for him..if he is on, LaSalle wins..if not, Clemson should handle them.

crib, thanks for the clarification -- your general reasoning makes sense, but I'm going to wait to see if this Clemson team is any better versus past versions.

GOod luck to the Tigers tonight, and to you.
