ok get this....its 4th down...Couch throws a little dump pass to Santaigo for the first down. Cleveland has no timeouts. So they get the first down and they line up on the ball and Couch spikes the ball. So a play has been run AND been called imcomplete. 2nd down...right!??! WRONG! They decide to challenge that 4th down play that happen 2 plays ago!!! Butch Davis is flipping out!!! Anyways...when its all said and done..the refs said he didnt catch it!!!!! So turnover on downs. Theres 48 seconds left....Davis is going double nuts now! Nobody can believe what just happened...the announcers cant believe what happened...and the fans are throwing allllll kinds of crap on the field. A guy split his head open because a fan threw a radio. The whole end zone is just full of trash!!!! Then the refs dont even explain the call at ALL! And they end up ending the game with 48 seconds remaining. Then of course...the refs had to escorted by the cops to the locker rooms and fans throwing all sorts of crap on the refs...the Jags players...even Tom Coughlin! That call cost Cleveland the playoffs

One to rememeber

That was the worst call in the history of the NFL.

As much as I hate the Browns....I have a little sympathy for Butch Davis after that mockery.

Looks like it's not over quite yet. Worst mess I've ever seen by the officials in over 30 years of watching the NFL. Shameful display.

I guess there still debating on wether or not Cleveland gets the ball or not. I wonder if Taglibue gets a say in the call.....

The fans display aside. (which was very pathetic) It's inexcusable for the refs to make such a piss poor call. I don't care for the Browns or Jags but it's ridiculous how the refs are impacting the outcome of games. Truly absurd...

I think I'm going to find something different to do on Sunday afternoons after that display in Cleveland. The NFL is simply not much fun any longer, the rules seem to be rather ambiguous in their application, and the amount of commercials being run have ruined the flow of the game. By the way, I monitored the commercials in the MIN/DET game from 1:30 to 2:30 (Eastern). The longest span WITHOUT a commercial was a little over 6 minutes, but that only happened once. The average time between commercials was 3.5 minutes. Commercials constituted 15 minutes of the airtime in the hour that I monitored (and that did not cover the 2 minute period prior to halftime).

In short, wagering on and watching the NFL now sucks. While I would not personally want to see one of those refs from Cleveland get injured, I sure would take pleasure in having about 5 minutes to explain to them how badly they f*cked up that game.

Yea no kidding....thats sick! All these damn commercials. I still think the NBA is the worst sport when it comes to commercial timeouts. But your right...the rules have come to a point to where you cant really play the game.

I'm not normally one to buy much into the "fix" theory, but WTF was THAT????? They actually went AGAINST NFL rules, which clearly state a play can't be reviewed after another one has been run!?!?! I don't know how ya want to classify it, but yes I do think there's a damn good chance SOMEONE (REFS?????) had some serious cash on the Jags! How the hell else do you explain that debacle??? That crap definately does give the NFL a black eye. Can the league office PLEASE find some competent refs SOME DAY SOON? PLEASE???????????

If Tagliabu was man enough to call the stadium and correct one wrong, (finish the game) then why didn't he correct both wrong calls? ( Cleveland possession )

As far as the fans...I remeber Sam Wyche getting on the mic in Cincy, asking his fans not to throw things on the field by stating, "we're not in Cleveland". Yeah, it was in very poor taste, but I almost can't blame them. ( I said almost )

With the Browns needing that win to keep any chance of the post season in sight, those officials......I still can't believe that call.

You'll hear someone bring up the point that NFL refs are only part-time workers. To me, that does'nt mean crap....especially on a call so obviously stated in the rules.

Someone said in this thread that they don't want to watch NFL cause of what happened in Cleveland and cause of all the commercials... Well, even though I personally lost some $ cause of it....I found it very entertaining.
