CMU has really been two different teams this year......theyre 1-4 SU, ATS in non-conference games and had their doors blown off by Kansas (The Chips say Welcome to Club, Nebraska!), Purdue and Clemson.
But, they're 4-0 SUATS in league play. In a league where every team basically looks the same, CMU is clearly at the head of the class. They're defending league champs and posted an 8-1 ATS record in nine MAC games last year.
Get this, they've beaten the spread by an average of 19 1/2 points in those four MAC games this year. Yet, they've also allowed 27.75 points per game in those contests.
They topped NIU, 35-10, Toledo, 52-31, and Kent 41-32 as short favs like tonight. They beat Ball St 58-38 as 12-point dogs.
Only these weather reports are whats stopping me from thinking this will be a complete, defense optional shootout. Still think a lot of points will be scored tonight. Average total points in the above four league games are 74 points, ten points more than the Veags O/U....gotta think that line is set there because of the weather.
Like i said, this game screams "it looks to easy." Hiller is a good QB for WMU and should be able to take advantage of CMU's so-so defense. The home team has dominated the series from an ATS standpoint.
Yet, I cant seem to get off the Chips....part of it is how much of money maker they've been in the MAC. They've been good to me, and I am sure that regular MAC posters and players on this site have been cashing with the chips for two years now as well.
In addition to CMU, maybe a small teaser CMU +5, Over 57?......thats 17 less points than their average MAC score.....is the weather that bad, where a defensive game might break out? Hard to imagine given how many points the winning team in CMU's game shas been scoring in all games this year.....just a thought with that teaser.....any other ideas?
Dont know about all of you, but i fully endorse Tuesday Night Football!!!!!
