Seriously? These are people that already made decisions that were incorrect and caused pain to someone somewhere, for the most part, except drug incarcerations. I have zero sympathy for them, but respect human life. If there is an infection within a prison, then it is just elimination by natural causes. Your freedom left you when you committed the crime. Deal with it. I do, however, feel for the guards babysitting them, and hope the best for them. What is your stance?

Same. I think guards should be reduced by half for safety and inmates stay in cell for safety. Food is delivered. I might have more time outside with 6ft rule, but maybe not.

I?m all for releasing non violent offenders early who have good conduct. All of us make bad choices. Some are worse, and some get caught.

Non violent offenders with less than a year left of their sentence should get released. Paedophile folks should all work in the sick bay without PPE! Or in solitary ............ JMO

Agree with non-violent offenders, agree with joker on the pedophiles.

I think you have a plan for how to best do social distancing within prison, and then do what's necessary to carry that out. I don't pretend to be an expert on prison logistics, but I'm assuming the only things that you really need to have inmates leaving their cells for daily are meals and if they have an essential job there. Other than that - no recreation time for a while and you keep them in their cells. It's what the rest of us are doing anyway.

If you don't think you can adequately keep the inmate population separated because of overcrowding - then yeah I would consider releasing non-violent offenders in order of remaining sentence until you've gotten down to the number you need.

It's definitely something that needs to be given careful thought. Regardless of how you feel about the prisoners contracting it, as already mentioned you definitely don't want the guards catching it, both for them personally and because they'd take it out with them - which impacts the rest of us too.
