NOVEMBER 22, 2005:

a black 'X' flashed over Vice President Dick Cheney's face during a live speech.

cheneyX.jpg

CNN anchor/reporter Daryn Kagan states:
"That is what was being prepared during the speech and due to the
:scared technical glitch :scared
that happened with the switcher, it accidentally got on the air because of the switch."

"And it's the sort of thing that just like your computer will glitch and will suddenly lock up and do something weird, our equipment does the same thing on occasions."

"It's not something we can re-create to show you what happened.
Which is a really important point.
"

"First of all, a switcher is a machine, not a person."

FIVE DAYS LATER:

A CNN switchboard operator claimed an 'X' placed over Vice President's Dick Cheney's face was "free speech!"

"We did it just to make a point. Tell them to stop lying, Bush and Cheney," the CNN operator said to a caller. "Bring our soldiers home."

The caller initially phoned the network to complain about the all-news channel flashing an "X' over Cheney as he gave an address live from Washington.

"Was it not freedom of speech. Yes or No?" the CNN operator explained.

"If you don't like it, don't watch."

WOULD WE EXPECT ANYTHING LESS FROM LIBERAL CNN???

Kind of a redundant?

Please show us Fox news reporting that is false.

Since you mentioned Cheney perhaps your answer can be specific to him.

Thanks.

Free Speech?

CNN has asserted that the large X that appeared over Vice President Cheney's face during the network coverage of a speech last week was an unintended technical glitch. But when an irate viewer called to complain about the incident, the switchboard operator on duty called it "free speech,? saying, "We did it just to make a point. Tell them to stop lying, Bush and Cheney. Bring our soldiers home..." adding, "if you don't like it, don't watch." CNN called the operator's behavior "totally inappropriate" and fired him.

and on CNN leader Tud Turner--Jane Fonda's EX

in lecture at Kansas St---

The Associated Press - MANHATTAN, Kan.

Media mogul Ted Turner said Monday that Iraq is "no better off" following the U.S.-led invasion that ousted dictator Saddam Hussein in 2003.

--and there are still some that question a bias @ CNN??--fortunatly Ted is having to live with his convictions via ratings and the ole pocket book. :)

and some more fair and balanced reporting from NYT--

U.S. retailers recorded sales of $27.8 billion over the Thanksgiving weekend and the National Retail Federation says the industry is on track for its second biggest season since 1999. Weekend sales were up 22 percent over a year ago and discount chains and online retailers reported record sales. So how does The New York Times report the good news?

On the front page of its business section, The Times notes that shoppers avoided mall-based specialty stores in favor of discount retailers, reporting that Friday's mall sales dropped nearly a full percentage point from last year.

We will say a Republican wants to get Howard Stern off the air or wants all porno to be stopped. What do the democrats then say, free speech if you don't like it turn the channel, don't tell us what we can watch. This is just another example of democrats acting like pissy bitches. They want censorship when it benefits them.
