Collin just said something about Tommy Tuberville to Tx A&M.

I would be shocked SHOCKED if he left Auburn for the aggies. But if it did happen it would be a big boost for the A&M program. At least I think it would, of course I thought the same thing about Fran.

the talks have died because tubby isnt going to give a lean on what side he's on until after the season. That topic is just on the Auburn backburner for a month or two. He probably will go to Texas AM though. Trust me, the Auburn fan base has no problem welcoming Bobby Petrino to our family...

Tubs has serious problems getting our team motivated for the non-LSU/UF games like georgia the past two seasons and arkansas last year or GA Tech in 2005. Our team motivates itself for big games.

Either way, we will be fine. If AM thinks he's worth a large check (some people are talking about numbers like Saban's contract)... let them have him. Speaking of Saban, he's dominating Tubbs in recruiting, which was expected because he's a new coach and is bringing hype, but Petrino would be his worst nightmare IMO.

Also, I heard a rumor from a bama fan(not very reliable) that Will Muschamp is gonna be head coach at Georgia Tech... Any truth???

Yeah, I don't know why A&M would do that. Tuberville's buyout is big and then with what they would have to pay him it just doesn't seem smart.

Muschamp is a guy who I would think would get more attention. He's a stud, I guess we just don't know how he can recruit yet.

80% He Goes..............20% He Stays

Reasons for him to stay at Auburn:

Auburn is a very young and talented team that should only get better over the next few years. The cupboard is REALLY bare at Texas A&M and it will take him at least 3 years to build what he's already got at Auburn.

Has established roots at Auburn and it is well known that his wife loves the place. Just moved his family into a new home and from what I've heard it's VERY nice. Most of his assistansts have been with him at Auburn since day one. Will Muschamp's(DC) wife went to school at Auburn as well as LB-Coach Willis.

Has some BIG alumni on his side and he is close to AD Jay Jacobs.

Reasons he makes a LATERAL move to A&M:

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Might think it's easier to win in the Big 12 than the SEC. I know that there are more gimmie wins out there but I personally have a lot of respect for the Big 12.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I know all the Bammer's out there will say he is runinng away scared but I doubt that. He has a winning record against the Great Saban.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Might still have some bad blood about the situation that happened back in 2003? I think Auburn has done it's best to put that behind us and move on. We gave him a hefty raise as well as his assistants and "Retired" the AD and President who were responsible.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I hear he has close friends out in Texas that he has a lot of respect for. Guess the grass always looks greener theory. Speaking of green:$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

In closing I would just like to thank Coach Tuberville for his service to Auburn. I know we have lost some tough games over the last 9 years but we have also won some big ones. 2004 was a great ride that I will never forget. Beating Alabama for the last 5, and hopeully 6 years, is something no other Auburn coach can match. I personally hope that he stays but if not Auburn will not have any trouble finding a great coach. I just wish that A&M had to make out the 6 million dollar check to ME!!!:yup

I am as big an Auburn fan as anyone out there, but I havent ever been a big fan of Tubs. He had the undefeated "People's Championship" season. Besides that, he managed to consistantly lose one or two big games a season with the most talented auburn teams that have come a long in quite a while. Pat Dye probably woulda had 2 national championship seasons in this 9 year span.

I still contend that Petrino would pick LSU over Auburn. I am often wrong, though;)

The Aggie insiders are actually claiming that their guy is Spurrier and that it is close to done. As I said earlier there is interest in Tuberville but his dollars, including the buyout, dont work. Anybody saying that is a done deal is flat wrong and that is a fact. he may end up the guy but it is nowhere near a done deal. In fact a better chance Tubs goes to LSU or Arkansas than AM right now.

Of course, my friend with the houston texans is fairly certain mike Sherman will be the Aggie coach, and there are reports around here to that effect as well.

Spurrier to A&M is laughable. It isn't going to happen. He's got it made at So. Carolina where they have realistic expectations, unlike A&M. College Station has no golf course that would get S.S.'s attention, where the SC area is the cream of the crop.
