houston +8 over rice (best bet).......rice has only 4 starters on each side of the ball returning, and only 1 of 5 on the offensive line. this will greatly hurt their option/running game. these two have a history of playng close games as well. i just see this as a dead even game with the only advantage for rice as being getting to play at home, and that is not worth more than a touchdown. take the points with a possible outright win here.
colorado st +8 over colorado (strong play).............another game that i see as a tossup. colorado favored by 8 on reputation. with a game under their belt, this is a huge advantage for colorado st. colorado's poor defense will allow colorado state to stay in this game. dog has covered 9 of the last 12 between these two as well. colorado pulls out the win, but state gets the cash.
vanderbilt +21 over georgia tech (regular play)..........georgia tech reminds me of rice this week. only 5 offensive starters back, but they do not have their qb back. vanderbilt for the exception off last year, always played tough defense and had no offense. i look for the defense to get back on track and playing a very young ga. tech offense will help. asking ga. tech to cover three touchdowns is a bit too much.
michigan -6 over washington (regular play).............i see this game one of two ways, either washington winning outright, or michigan winning comfortably. michigan owes them from last year and they have a history of playing well at home vs the pac 10. i read somewhere that washington when they lose straight up, has a horrible record vs the spread. i just don't see them going into michigan and beating them this year. therefore, michigan gets the cover. lets make it 27-13.
my last three picks are all just opinions......................
georgia -9 over clemson.............with no qb and only 4 starters on offense, georgia will put a hurting on clemson. clemson does have good defense, but it will wear down from being on the field too much due to clemson's offense not moving the ball. georgia will wear them down as the game goes on. georgia 34-16
miss. st +9 over oregon.............i have always been a jackie sherrill fan. they were better than their record last year as they lost alot of close, tough games. state usually plays very good defense and oregon with struggle with new qb to start the season. oregon wins a close one 20-13.
wisconsin -4 over unlv.............better team + better conference + win.
colorado st +8 over colorado (strong play).............another game that i see as a tossup. colorado favored by 8 on reputation. with a game under their belt, this is a huge advantage for colorado st. colorado's poor defense will allow colorado state to stay in this game. dog has covered 9 of the last 12 between these two as well. colorado pulls out the win, but state gets the cash.
