record 7-8

Ole Miss -2
Ole Miss led the whole game last year before losing in the final seconds and will not overlook this team again. Rebs have their entire team back except for PG Harrison. His replacement Pearson has better size, more quickness, and is a better shooter so it is not a huge loss. Pearson is a terrific defender. Rebels also get 6-10 C Gunn back who looked good in his 1st game back scoring 16 points in 17 minutes. GM relies on basically 2 guys for most of their offense. Sanders, UM's best defender, will probably be put on Davis and will hold him in check. UM plays great pressure defense which will be a problem for the Patriots who have 37 TO's in 2 games. Think Ole Miss wins by around 10 here.

Duquesne +24
Duquesne is no Citadel. They have better size, experience, and depth. Still not sold on Maryland. Don't think they win by much over 15 here.

Purdue +2
Purdue has better depth and home court which I think will be enough to get the W.

Austin Peay +16
Missouri doesn't have much depth and lost their top scorers from last year's team. Only 6 players scored in their 1st game and Johnson and Paulding are foul prone. Think AP keeps it close.

Colorado St. +4.5
ALR lost their best player from last year in Blackmon. CSU has better size and better shooters. Think they win this one SU.

Fairfield +9.5
Just think this is too many points for St. John's on the road. They are not deep and don't have much size and Hatten is an erratic shooter. If he has a bad game Fairfield could win this one.

Xerri,

Don't wanna disuade ya if yer mind is made up........but Fairfield has their best big men either sidelined with injury.....Jeremy Logan and Ajou Deng.........Leading shotblocker Deng Gai (2nd to Okafor at CT last year) is out for the semester. Ffld is not deep in talent. That said.........their starting point is 5'7" and not as good as Elijah Ingram......Hatten (although sometimes erratic) is better than Kudjo Sogadzi and any other 2g Ffld has to offer. Frontline will have their matchup problems as well......... Could it happen,,,,,,,,,,,,,,SURE..............but game is at Harbor yard in Bpt, CT and won't provide much in the way of home court ad.

Ffld is 1-27 vs B east in last 17 years ....a W is not likely today.

I'm on St Johns in this one

adding
S. Alabama +9
USM is not very good this year and has struggled to beat Alcorn St., Jackson St., and Troy St. Think USA could win this so will take the points.

New Mexico St. -4
NM is thin on talent this year besides Douglas. They struggled against NW St. in their last game, the same team that lost by 28 to Baylor. Lobos struggle away from the Pit and NMS should get the win at home.

Appalachian St. +16.5
Appalachian has some good shooters and beat UNCC in their last game. S. Carolina had a game last night and lost one of their big men in Kitchings. USC has trouble with TO's and FT shooting so this may be a few too many points.

BTW, thanks for the advice bear. Knew Deng and Gai were out. I'm just not high on SJ and it is a high pubic consensus play. That's my smallest play of the day so will stick with it. GL.
