To me, it's the difference 'tween day and night.

I think college is ten times easier to get a handle on compared to the NFL.

The NFL for me is like Chinese Physics.

About a month ago, I ran into a old bookie friend of mine. I asked him how he fared during the football season. He said, "Whatever I lost on Saturday, I more than made up for on Sunday."

...i couldn't agree more. i actually quit betting on the nfl a couple of years ago because: 1.) i just could care less about the nfl, the egos and whatnot that goes along with it and 2.) i don't put near as much time into it... (probably could i could give a chit less)

...but i really put my time in on cfb and it has paid its dividends over the last 5 years.... ;)

...damn, i can't wait until august.

interesting....

interesting....

Even though I'm much more a fan of NCAA...I find it much easier to cap the NFL.
My local said he got smoked last year in the NFL.

I love watching college 20 times better then NFl football. I love my Titans but college is better.

Further, College is a lot easier to bet on for me. I can handicap a lot easier with college. NFL is a for sure loser is $$$ with me.

books take a bigger beating from college then the nfl most years and a beating still means the book is still making money but just less.

Here is the scenario:

Watching Sports:
College football just can not be beat. Hands down, I would watch a college game that I did not bet on over 5 pro games that I had a nickel each on! It's just more exciting. The players are just more into their game. It's not about the "if they want to play they will play" attitiude, its about PRIDE and pride goes a long way in stirring emotion! I personally get chill bumps when I see my beloved Tigers take the field, Brings a tear to my eye! (and not because we got beat either, I'll beat you bammers to the punch)

Betting on Sports:
I like betting the NFL better, for one reason. Predictability! It is easier to predict the outcome of a NFL game to me! I mean any given day in college football a crap team can knock off the number 1 team in the nation! (yep you guessed it, Auburn vs. Florida, any of yall remember that game? I think the spread was like 23 points:shrug: ) So I say watch college football and make your house payment with the NFL, your more likely to see the same old 33.5 over under, and the same old 3 point spread each week. But I'll lay some serious wood on me betting on both days of the weekend this season:grins:

I get sheer joy out of betting on College football as I spend Monday through Saturday handicapping the games and finding out as much information as I can. And Saturday Night I burn through to look at the NFL match ups that I have only spent a little time on during the week. But, I have done better in the NFL the past three seasons (only moderately). I?ve tried to not spend so much time on College to do better gambling, but I lost my ass that Saturday and will never do it again. Being miserable and broke is no way to go through life, son.

The trick to the NFL is knowing that you?re gonna have to bet some bad teams that are on the wrong side of a key number. I will never bet a 6? or a 2? point favorite again. And while there?s nothing more disheartening than calling a local on Sunday and saying ? Uhhh?Give me Cincinnati, Dallas, and Washington? , but you have to on some days or your gonna get killed betting the Titans, Colts and Raiders of the world.

They?re definitely two different mindsets.

Its much easier for me to cap college football. Not sure why but this season I am going to stay heavy on CFB and minimal on the NFL .

Cant wait for football.

Baseball is very difficult for me. It may be because I dont really enjoy playing baseball or watching it. Not sure but thats life.

College. But I love pro totals. I swear some weeks they almost Broadcast there game plans. Or two teams that play a certain way vs each other just keep on doing it. Some times don't even matter if the coaches change.

I simply enjoy handicapping both college football and college basketball, but I do know this about the NFL...

The "NFL Weekly Matchup Forum" that is moderated by 4bubba is some of the very best NFL handicapping info to be found anywhere.

That is a "no-nonsense" forum and for an NFL lurker like me, that forum will be "Information Central."

I don't know why, but I always do good in CFB in Sept & Oct &
nosedive in Nov,Dec, & Bowls.....but I can't pick my nose in NFL
Sept & Oct, but do well in Nov,Dec, & playoffs.......and for some
reason it all evens out over the course of the season......I often
wonder why the hell I do it.........then the season rolls around
and I stop wondering and get the ITCH........

Billy,

I heard a general "rule of thumb" for college bowl games...

In the minor bowls, consider the dog.

In the major bowls, consider the favorite.

Buddy in those minor bowl games. Many times the D, is lacking and the over can be a very good play.
