Can anyone tell me where to find info on the Rockies Stadium? For instance, if the wind is blowing 20 mph from the north tomorrow night along with 40 degree temp, is it blowing in towards home plate...etc.. Under 13.5 may be worth a look. Players traveling

if you go to covers.com and then click on that paticular game, you should be able to find a link to look at coors stadium. it will tell you how wind direction equates to the stadium layout. hope this helps

Latebreaking news from Coors Field in Denver:

Tomorrow's weather forcast calls for 85 mph winds blowing in from centerfield directly across home plate. The total has dropped down all the way to 13.

wigs, i have looked for a weather site for about three years that orientates the stadium with the corresponding wind direction, with some semblance of accuracy. i am familiar with covers.com, but can't seem to find the stadium layouts. could you give a guy a little help. thx

Don't know if this helps in any way with covers.com's info but anyway:

Home to dead center runs NNW
1st base line runs N
3rd base line runs W

We had a huge storm here yesterday: Nolan was close with about 70 mph winds and about 6 inches snow. BUT has all but melted away and doesn't look like too much wind right now anyway.

Hope info helps

Thanks Tduji! That helps tremendously. What are the local stations calling the weather tonight at gametime? I still feel if the wind continues to blow 10-15mph out of the West/Northwest with temps in the 40's/50's with real feel below that, it should go under. What's your opinion?

I am glad that I could be of service....

Tonight is supposed to be in the low 40's, and 10 -15 mph north wind.

I have seen more times than not that the lighter air (with the storm now gone less humidity) and the cooler temps have brought the OVER. The wind is blowing North down the first base line and I think should be condusive to higher runs. However, Nomo pitched the no-hitter here when it was snowing....go figure.....

Anyway, I would tend toward the over.

barkeep,
after you click on a certain game, scroll down and on the left hand side you will see the stadium listed, if you click "overall" just under the stadium name, a screen pops up which shows the field layout/wind direction.
good luck

if you just want all the ballparks with configuration and orientation, go to ballparks.com, click on baseball, then national or american, then facts and figures, then orientation. you get a layout of all ballparks oriented to north.

Along these lines you should know that it is a rare wind pattern here that will knock balls down heading to left. The normal weather is whats called for tonight blowing out along first making for higher scores. Every so often we get an upslope wind that comes in from the north/north east that will keep the scores low. I always try to post this in those situations.

As for tonight, Chacon is still young and anything could happen....
