Unrelated, but took J Daniels to win the heisman last yr, the rhetoric was 40% Bo Nicks, 30% penix jr, 20% MHJ and when there was time … oh yeah Jayden.
I took him 2x - once at +400 mid oct, then again +890 after losing to Bama.
The stats, the conference, the arm blizzard of deep balls coming in game after game. The media seemed to think you’ve gotta be on an undefeated or 1- loss team to win it, i “guess” thats why he wasn’t the favorite until wash beat oregon the 2nd time, but statistically it was close— not as close as they made it out to be.
having said that I didnt take this bet because i knew he had the cannon arm to get it to the end zone from his own 40. (Threw from 35). I took it thinking they’d try to get 8-9 yards and get OOB and set up a 60 yrd gm tying fg attempt. If i knew the play call coming im embarrassed to say i dont bet it
