KD....gee, i wish i could even BEGIN to tell you how many problems i'm having with this thing right now.....LOL

the major thing i'm trying to get working is my scanner. I tried installing it about 15 times yesterday, and had to keep uninstalling and starting over, but nothing i tried would work. The first 2 times i tried installing it, i didn't pull my instruction manual back out, and had the USB plugged in, prior to downloading the software..... once i pulled the book out, it said clearly do NOT plug it in first.... oops. So i'm not sure if some sort of wrong driver was installed or something, that is still hiding out there somewhere, and not being uninstalled, preventing it from being installed in the correct manner at this point. At my wits end with it....installed so easily a year ago, when i knew even less about computers than i do today! UGH

Shouldn't be a problem to go into the control panel and remove the software and the drivers if necessary. If you've never run a USB device on you're system before, make sure the bridges, like drivers for your USB at the motherboard level, have no conflicts. (Go to the control panel, click on the system icon, then on the tab that says "device manager") Usually unless this has something to do with an update, you would always plug the hardware in first, start you're system, and let it detect the new device, then proceed with the software installation. That is of course assuming the system is plug and play capable. You should be able to accomplish all of this from the control panel. It's hard to be specific without specifics. I hope this didn't sound like a bunch of Greek.
