Computer Help Needed

Ok so basically I was running my computer and I had the quick launch buttons on the bottom left part of the computer you know with like 5 commonly used applications. I guess its called quick launch. It's not there anymore. I right click on the taskbar and the show quick launch check/uncheck is in gray and won't let me check uncheck it. How do i get quick launch back? I've searched on the net but I maybe a newb at this. thanks in advance.

I'm running Windows XP Professional.

Try right-clicking the taskbar, and click "toolbars". Quick launch should be checked. If not, check it and it should bring it back to where yah can work with it.
