I know there are some sharp computer guys here and I thought maybe someone could help, as i can't find the answer to this anywhere.

I use outlook and when there is a link for a website in an email that I recieve, I click on the link and Ie opens up, but the link does not show up in the address bar, all there is, is a blank screen and nothing happens.

The other issue is very minor as well, but every morning my computer asks if I want to install a new windows update. I install it and it shows successfully installed, but the next morning it asks again if i want to install the same update.

thanks in advance if anyone can help. these are minor problems, but .....

Thanks Njsf for responding. When I ran option 2 it said successful but it is still not working. Option 1 and Option 3 must be for win 98, I have xp. Nothing happens when I ran msinfo32 and under windows explorer I do not see anything that says view\folder options\file type in explorer. But thanks again, I do appreciate the help.
