computer help

dont know what im doing wrong.

whenever I shut my computer down it seems to freeze up.
the picture will go dark except for a flickering dash in upper left corner. The hard drive will not shut off.

I have to shut the power off at the wall and turn it back on.

i have windows me

any help ia appreciated

Widows 98/ME is notorious for that. I never did figure out how to fix it or what I did to break it. My fix was to get XP. Best of luck

Have you checked for spyware??? Also run a virus scan. Sounds like you have some bad exe running.

I ran a virus scan and everything was ok.I will try spybot and see what happens. First time Im ever trying this.
