I am having trouble loading some sites. I can't get access to hotmail, cnn. google, yahoo search, etc. Where as, this site, cbs, espn, I'm not having trouble at all. I also cannot load aol instant messenger. Does anyone know what the problem is? Having I looked at too many porn pages? Thanks in advance.

What are you using for internet access (dialup, dsl, broadband)? What operating system are you using (windows 98, XP, ME)? Have you done any of the microsoft updates *should be done monthly)? Are you running virus software and updating it daily? Do you clear your cache and defrag your hard drive? How old is your computer? How much memory, CPU speed, type of processor?

I am using broadband w/ microsoft 98. I have a pentium 3, 667. i update virus software daily. The computer was bought in july of 2000. I have 256k of memory. Here's the thing, when I go to the windows update and try and download the criticals that I need, it keeps saying that the download failed. I'm lost at this point.

I can barely log into any site now. After a couple, I have to restart. What should I do since none of the stuff mentioned is even loading? re-format? Will I have to re-format my other comp. as well?

Maybe this will help. When i type in google, a search page comes back and asks me if I mean "www.google.com". Of course this is what I typed in. When I go to hotmail login page. It lets me type in my password, but then doesn't let me go any further. What do you suggest I do on my processor and memory?

You have some sort of DNS and or routing problem. Unplug all but one of the computers and plug your computer directly into the broadband router. Don't use the wireless network. Make sure you reset the router by unplugging it.
