I have an IBM\Lenovo IdeaCentre K230 57094418 computer that won't boot. When you turn it on, the power comes on, the fan comes on, it seems to start into boot up but comes to the screen that offers option for safe mode, start normally, last known good config (the "computer powered down unexpectedly" screen), and then no matter what I choose, it goes to Windows start up, goes to black and gives no signal and starts up again. We go round and round this little track, but nothing changes.

I have tried all safe modes, start normally, last known, and going to BIOS to see if there was something funny or to see if it would jump start it.

Had the computer for 3-4 years.

Not adept on figuring out whether it's a software or hardware problem or both.

Sounds like a motherboard issue. If not that, a hard drive issue.

This is going to be a hands on fix for someone

F2 at startup will get into your bios and you can probably turn off the "reboot on error" to keep it from rebooting over and over

If you have your Windows disk, you can try running a repair - Be careful - Some of the repair basically soft format you back to factory condition meaning you lose all your shit

I fixed a problem similiar to this a few weeks back and I used the Windows disk to get a dos prompt -

You can access the makers recovery usually with a ctrl + F(n)
ie - " you can access your Dell?s recovery partition by pressing Ctrl+F11 when the machine is first turned on."

Good Luck - Google is your friend, many people have had the same problem
