computer problem......HELP!

My monitor might be dying. Geeks out there.....help me.

The screen has been going from normal to a yellow tint lately. The tint will stay for a while, and then go away.

Now, every so often, the screen goes completely black. I need to shut the computer down for a while and it comes on again when I turn it back on.

Could there be some other problem, or is the monitor going on me?

I had a similar problem at work and the computer gurus replaced something in the motherboard and it was fine. I thought it was the monitor too, but it wasnt. The fact that the monitor seems to be fine after you reboot is what leads me to believe the problem might not be in your monitor, or else I would think the monitor would always whig out regardless of the reboot. I am not saying the problem isnt your monitor. Just dont go buy a new monitor yet if the problem might be elsewhere....could save yourself a few trips to the store.

I know this doesnt solve your problem aside from possibly saving you money and a few extra trips to the store.

Thanks....I bought a new monitor yesterday, ybut it is still in the box.

I will talk to the local "geeks" here, and see what they have to say.
