Thanks in advance, son has an alienware that is out of use for two years. All starts up fine, except where the internet wireless bars are at the bottom of screen showing connection, there is no bar showing whatsoever. Is something turned off? Does something need to be activated? Never seen this before on any computer. Thank you.

First place to check is

Start
Control Panel
Network and Sharing

Take a look there and see what is showing up

After that on the left hand side of the screen you can click "change adapter settings" and that will take you to wireless adapter - Once you see your wireless adapter you can right click and diagnose

Thank you Josh, we were out all day at lake. He tried this but as soon as he did "Network and Sharing" he was given an access denied message. I appreciate your trying though. Makes absolutely no sense when it was on there before.
