How do you put things in chronological order?

I have 800 items.

Each item has a letter and a number.

I would like my computer to arrange them by number.

How do I do this?

Thanks, buddy

in windows explorer, open the folder you want to arrange. click on 'view' and then click 'arrange icons' and then select the option you want. that's for win98.

i think this is what you are looking for.

any data base will give you the option to arrange things in either numerical or alphabetical order by column.....

not sure how a computer would know a chronological order of items, unless the number corresponded to date or something.

the excel database would work great.

I don't think Excel will sort by the second character. You could sort by letters or numbers if they are the first character. If you have 1b, 2c, 3a, you could not sort it by letter.
