Edge Connecticut
Should be close to Pick em
The reasoning here is that for the first time this year Ct seems to be making progress as a team and are playing much better. They clearly outplayed oklahoma in half 2 but came up just short at the end of that one ..........They had 6 men in double figures in 35 point home W over a weak Va. Tech this week and..........Its important to note that they sunk 8 3s which is unheard of for this team and had only 7 turnovers.
Villanova has not played as tough a sched as CT and (I know this is a road game) but if emeka Okafor stays out of foul trouble and plays 30 min he'll impact the outcome. This Freshman is an eraser
44 blocks in about 25 min per game...avg. about 5 per game
CT came to town last year as a 1 pt fav and lost 74-60...........This CT team is better than last years and there is no Michael Bradley this year (20 pts 10 reb.) for Vill......Ct led that game at the half but wound up 1 for 10 from 3 while the Cats went 10 for 19.......they were even on the boards with CT advantage on offensive boards.....Boards should be close again.
Ct will probably take better care of the ball as Vill is turnover prone and I'm looking for the Ct bench to contribute much here....6th man Frosh Ben Gordon had 18 to lead team in last game and Shamon Tooles is getting time now as a Defensive specialist (they say hes the only one on the team who can D Coron Butler in practice) '
Ct is feeling very good about recent play and Nova is off a tough home loss to BC..............Clearly Ct has no shooter like Gary Buchanan but teams both shoot in the 50% neighborhood and hold opposition to mid 30s......Should be a good game....I see edge to CT..............but thats my team and I usually find a way to make a case for them........Anyway.......Good Luck
