"Chico" Corrales -125 at Pinny. My play. Been going down to Mandalay Bay looking for a number, but those dips move like molasses going uphill. So I took the Pinny number. I'm betting on Corrales being mentally focused here. This I feel will be Castillo's toughest to date. I still think Chico is cotinually improving. But he is a tempermental SOB. A motivated, focused Corrales is a force to be dealt with. I realize Castillo is considered to be at the top of his game and the lightweight heap. But that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Corrales has been innactive in what I feel is like a even fight. So, naturally I took Castillo at +126.

Very interesting matchup, I don't expect Castillo to run like Freitas did.

That same weekend I played...

Golata over Brewster -340 1/2 unit

Golata-Brewster over 7.5 -110 1 unit

I really like both of these, was hoping for a better price on Golata.

I wanted a better line on Golata and I got it.

Just played him again at -294, still a little more than I was hoping but better than it was before.

Brewster is an absolute joke. He lost a lopsided decision to Charles Shufford and lost a lopsided decision to Clifford Etienne in the same year (2000). Since then he's beat a handfull of nobodies. The fact that he couldn't hurt Etienne proves he has no power at all.

Klitschko beat the sh*t out of Brewster for 5 rounds, he beat him so bad he colapsed from exhaustion. After that gift win, Brewster got the sh*t beat out of him again for 12 rounds this time by Meehan, yes the same Meehan that was waxed by Rahman a few months ago. DK saved Brewster who won an obviously rigged decision. This time DK is on Golata's side also so it should be straight. Golata's the more promotable fighter so if anything DK should be leaning his way.

Brewster has one of the best chins in boxing. The beatings he took from Klit and Meehan were absolutly brutal. Golata has a good chin also and Brewster doesnt have much power so the over 7.5 at even money is very solid imo.

my fight`s still not on the board........and i`m getting a little impatient.......lol

i think this is another tough bout to call...castillo may be the biggest, strongest guy corrales has ever been in with...and he`s on a roll.....of course, the reverse may also be true...

if javier jauregui got castillo out of there twice, certainly corrales can....granted,that was years ago in a different weight class...

i`d be worried about chico`s chin....casamayor put him down every time he stood his ground....

i don`t like comparison`s, but, castillo gave mayweather more grief than anybody else has....even though styles make fights....

these comparisons,i admit,are basically useless...

freitas,as he moved up in competition and weight had only 2 k.o.`s in his last 8 fights..he ran like a thief...and chico walked him down....

castillo will be right there in front of corrales...

i need more time....i would surmise that if you like corrales, get him now....he`s got more public name recognition.....if you like castillo, sit tight....

i need to talk to some people before i commit on this one...

an i agree,if golota doesn`t beat brewster....or himself(lol),i`d be very surprised.....big height(size) and talent advantage,imo...

but, golota isn`t called the "foul pole" for nothing....brewster,as box stated, takes a decent beating and it should be a physical, rough fight...be hopeful that andrew doesn`t lose his cool....

If i'm not mistaken, both of Castillo's losses to Juargeui were by cuts. If i'm also not mistaken Castillo has never been down.
I like his strength and power punches to hurt Corrales. I like Castillo to win this, probably by decision. Of course, if Corrales is the first to drop him I wouldn't be surprised. should be a good match-up.

boxlox, Brewster is a good puncher as by his kayo percentage which is very high. of course against mostly bumbs. his only win by decision was against Meehan which he lost. Golota should easily outbox him, but that dude has been known to do strange things.

Thanks gw, got him again at -250, glad I played him small at the opener

I thought Golata opened kinda high but I was waiting for that line to come out and I was willing to lay 3-1 to get him.

I expected Golata to open around -200 due to Brewster's fluke wins over Klit and Meehan, I was licking my chops waiting for a soft line. But the oddsmakers obviously know whats up. The squares immediatly bought it down and I appreciate it, I played it BIG at -250. Also put a little more on the over.

I didn't like the opening price but I was glad to see the oddmakers agree with me and favored him by that much.

Knockout percentage doesn't mean sh*t to me. Its all about who he has ko'd and who he hasn't ko'd. Like I said, the guy couldn't hurt Clifford "glass jaw" Etienne which is absolutely pathetic, and he couldn't get Meehan or Shufford out of there either. His ko of Klit was a joke, Klit ko'd himself. Off hand I can't think of one decent fighter he has ko'd.

well, Brewster's problems are well known. He doesn't throw very many punches. I won't bet the fight though, just have a bad feeling. maybe cause I lost a lot on Golota vs Ruiz. good luck. i hope Golota wins it for you.

this fight...golota/brewster...is supposedly in golota`s adopted hometown of chicago, illinois.......

brewster`s from california....

has to be a slight edge to golota...
btw..i love j.m. marquez...but,victor polo is no cream puff.....+700?...

look at polo`s record....marquez coming off the loss to pacquaio....yes,i said loss...

polo`s losses(3) over the last 14 years have either been by split or technical decision to top fighters..

and he easily beat scott harrison in scotland by all accounts....robbery.....he has a height advantage...he`s a lefty....

if you have a few dollars to throw away...hell, ten spot even...

i think that marquez will win....but,7-1?....coming off a bit of a beating?...

some guys don`t react well after taking their first bad beating/loss...

The only time Castillo was stopped legit was to Cesar Soto. He didn't get dropped in that 1 either. However, he took some really hard shots in the corner and was wobbling all over the ring and then they stopped the fight.

I agree with a small play on Polo, I got him +795 at pinny. I'm a big Marquez fan also and he should win, but considering each fighters last performance combined with Polo's southpaw stance and a 2" height advantage...the +795 is definitly worth a shot. The straight left hand of Pac did a lot of damage to Marquez. I know Polo won't be that fast, but with the height advantage it could pose a big problem for Marquez again in this fight. We both know its a long shot and we both want Marquez to win but at +795 its worth a small shot.

I also played the over 10.5 at -102

anybody think that ebo elder has a chance against juan diaz?....

after almost dying in the ring 3 months ago vs courtney burton?....

a burton that is pretty much not a huge puncher....and is somewhat economical with his punches?...

i`m no big diaz fan...but,even though he`s not a huge puncher at lightweight,he`s a pretty big and physical lightweight....and a very busy one....

i`m actually waiting for diaz to step in with an elite fighter...i expect decent odds and a big play against him...but,not here...

the kind of beating elder(imo, a smallish lightweight)took from burton has some residual effect...

i expect diaz to be a little to strong...a little to busy....and i wonder out loud if elder`s face can hold up...

shelley finkel isn`t taking chances with his cash cow...they see elder as a fairly safe fight,imo...

isay again, be curious to see if elder`s face holds up...not to mention his body..diaz does work the body...hard.....elder has had some tough fights...and the burton fight was actually scary...

i have several decent parlays pending with diaz as the kicker....

as i said,i`m no big diaz fan...but,they aren`t through milking the hispanic/student/role model thing....and elder isn`t an elite guy....and may be coming back a bit to soon after almost being beaten to death in his last fight....

they should watch elder`s father carefully...not many father`s would have sent their sons back out for that last round...
