Rant: Costa Rica

Have any of you guys ever been to Costa Rica? I know a lot of offshore books are run there but does that mean that their local casinos would have sports books? If anyone has any experience let me know. I'm headed there for a work trip, to San Jose, and just wanted to know what the scoop was.

The casinos are nothing like you have seen in the states. They suck.

Best thing about CR is prostitution is LEGAL! Google it and San Jose has a few hotels where you must visit.

I live just outside of Jaco, CR. The only casino I know of with a sportsbook here is Cocal Hotel/Casino in Jaco. The sports book there is run by Bookmaker. Supposedly, this is a branch of their main casino in San Jose. So if you're going to be in San Jose, check with Bookmaker to see where their local sportsbook is at.

Ha yea I seen it in the flesh and the prostitutes were extremely attractive. The only reason I assume they were prostitutes is the guy was a caucasian Male about 70, possibly had money. The women, about 25, amazing 10s. I said women he had 2 one on each side he was massaging and they massaged him as well in this nightclub/lounge at the hotel I stayed at.

Just do online that sports book not worth the visit. IMO

I have been to the country, and it is beautiful, clean, and very diverse. I would recommend skipping the casinos and go see the sights. Rain forests, abundant wildlife, beautiful mountains and countryside, nice driveable roads, volcanos, and beaches. Rent a car cheaply and drive all over. Very fun.

Agreed. I thought I would have more "free" time than I did but with the hurricane I ended up getting there 2 days late. I go every year, well for the last 3 years, but never had been to casino but from the sounds of it I'm not missing out on much. Thanks guys!!!
