Stats as of 11:59pm EST March 17th from World Health Organization

Just some stats to put things in perspective.........

184,976 confirmed cases

159 countries, areas or territories with cases

7,529 deaths

Current Population of Planet Earth = 7.77 Billion

And let's say things get really bad, like a 20 times worse, ok screw it like 50 times worse. That would mean about 376,000 dead. Which would still be a minuscule number of deaths worldwide. Yes 376,000 dead is a big number, but when you compare it with a population of 7.77 billion, the number is tiny. Even if things got 100x worse then they are now, guess what, that number would still be low.

Again, currently 7,529 deaths worldwide, it would sure suck if you were one of them, but on a World Population scale that number is nothing.

Note: Almost all that have died were already unhealthy, and most were elderly.

Since you aren't taking this thing seriously I suspect you're not helping with all the suggestions to help contain this thing.

Huh?

I posted the stats on the virus, just because the death rate is minuscule doesn't mean that I don't think the situation is serious.

And for the record I have followed pretty much everything the gov't has told us to do. I have done my part to not spread the virus. Or to put it another way I have followed your "stay the fuck home you selfish assholes" advice.

You freakin' out, Jack?

Kinda.

Being 65 years old doesn't help.

Thinking 4+ months of this is not a good feeling at all.

Personally, I'm set up just fine for all this. But, I don't like it.

I'm more worried about the economy, the people that this will destroy financially, the people it will kill....

If this goes on for 4, 6, 8 months or longer, things will be fucked up for a long time.

Now I see a headline saying that it could last 18 months or longer. Say what? I don't have the sound on.

That's not the problem. Yet.

Everything is closing. Things that you and I like to do. Can't fly, can't go to bars or restaurants, no sports, can't go to a movie. can't even buy a fucking roll of toilet paper. Schools are closed, people out of work, stock market crash. Things are totally fucked up already, what's it going to be like in 1 month, 3 months, 6 months? Hospitals over crowded. What happens if you have a heart attack, a car accident, any medical emergency, and the hospital is full and can't take you? I don't like what I'm seeing.

I understand the unknown is scary and I see the Panic as everyone does. The 4 county's surrounding me has Zero cases and that is concerning wondering Why? Restaurants and bars are still open in Florida, of course no sporting events and the market always over reacts to everything. I did play a round today in under 4 hours as a lot of the snow birds panicked and went back home to be near family. I am shocked with all the people living in NY down here that the Florida numbers are not higher. I ain't changing my routine, I am either fishing or golfing each day unless I decide to take the day off and rest. If I go down, it will be on my terms.....Not some nut job in office telling me how to live.........JMO :0008

Now this is legit, you are bang on, this is the stuff to freak out about. Worldwide things could go to total shit if this lasts another half year or so.

And to your point above.....financially the world is fucked, no question about that. This virus is going to cost the world economy a gazillion dollars, that shit is scary.

On the plus side air pollution is way down, check out the satellite images over China for example, people can breath the air now:00hour

On the course!

The thousands of people hanging out at the beach will ramp Florida up to speed soon enough I'm afraid.

The approach we take today, will determine where we are next week.

It's easy to say the numbers are small right now, but they are growing. Reminds me of the penny game. You get paid a penny, and it doubles every day. Sure, you have nothing for a while, and then it really takes off.

Two weeks ago we had 500 cases. Today? 8000.

The US will overtake the rest of the world in cases and deaths, simply because of our arrogance.

The world cant stand us, and we make it easy.

Just one more thing...............With all the deaths that occur during a bad flu season, why wouldn't we be just as panicked or more so? Because it is known verses the "unknown". This too will pass and hopefully our government does not go over the line bat shit crazy...... Will see as this develops , we are living in the greatest county in the world if that's any consolation.........:0008

This isn't Italy...........It's the United States and we have better sanitation standards hands down....Just saying

Nothing to do with this. People are being rejected at hospitals everywhere.

1. Not enough tests.
2. Unless you cannot breath even if you have CV you're being sent home.

Writing is on the walls.
