My tire was losing air. I took it to the tire place, and they told me I have a cracked rim. Ok to to drive, but it will slowly lose air. I?m ignorant in this area but want to be an informed consumer. The tire place told me it?s probably cheaper to order online. Do I need to order a rim? A wheel? Both? I have no clue.

This is a 2009 Lexus LS460.

It has an aftermarket wheel on it I think.

These are the car specs from inside the driver?s door.

These are pics of what I have now.

I'm surprised to see that somebody that works in the medical field hasn't gotten something to cure that curb rash!

On the course!
I'm curious as to why you wouldnt have had the tire guy answer these questions?

I'm sure he would know.

The tire guy didn?t offer to do it or help; he just suggested I buy the part online. I think he took for granted I would know what I needed.

Call the area junk yards.

Call and ask them what? I don?t even know what to ask for? I need a Lexus rim? I need a Lexus wheel with 10 spokes? Is an 18 inch rim standard or are there different sorts of 18 inch rims? See, there is a whole lot of ignorance here.

If you are a member at Costco? You can stop by the tire shop and they will inspect and also provide a local Rim company they do business with along with the rim specifications needed for your vehicle. You can get it mounted where ever you choose once you get the correct rim. Or you could stop by most any tire places for this info. Who ever you went to see about this that blew you off............I wouldn't go back!

Oh, Do not go to a dealership...............they will rape you on pricing.

junk yards now have e-mail and texts to send pix of the part you are looking for..

call around...soon as you mention your vehicle and rim the good guys will point you in the right direction.

Just take the car into a dealer or Pep Boys,

Just let them fix it right.

It could cause you unneeded future expense.

200 sounds fair installed . check the tire while your at it.

call your local lexus dealer, talk to the parts dept.
give them your vin no.
they will know from that what wheel you need and give you a price and availability

it will be the most expensive but simplest option for you.

otherwise, call a local junk yard. tell them what you're looking

for, most junk yards nowadays, have parts locater across the country.

or, also check into aftermarket wheel companies.

you can check into that online.

gluck,
burgh.
