Hi Guys,

Just wondering if anyone has been following the Cricket over the past few weeks.

On the surface New Zealand (+190 in Game 1 and +275 to win the series) seems well over the odds.

Haven't had a look at the markets too closely yet but I think there may be some good shopping opportunities :)

ie yer best price on the Yarpies will be at the NZTAB

Think I'm going to sit and stay on this one and just cheer on my countrymen

Given that SA have beaten us in 15 out of the last 16 one-dayers  I can see why they are favoured by the books.

But there's a theory that that mark only sets them up for a return to the mean very soon ;)

Anders,

Geez wasn't aware that the Kiwi's record against South Africa (1 win from the past 16 matches) was so bad. In saying that the 2002 team seems to be a well balanced side and has been in solid form lately.

Might join you in just cheering them on. Have to be happy just to see Australia out if it for a change !!

:D

Hi,

Have been following the VB Series and won some money early in the series but by the end of the regular games had given all of it back.

As for the final series, I personally staying out as South Africa are too short and can't back NZ, a team that lost 15 out of 16 to SA and has top player Cairns with an injury cloud.

If you are backing NZ you definitely want to take the series bet as there is a chance that Games 2 and 3 may not be played due to weather in Sydney. Large amounts of rain have meant there has not been a chance to prepare the pitch properly yet and with rain forecast for the rest of the week it is being reported that Game 2 and possibly Game 3 could be in doubt and Game 1 might decide the winner of the series.

Note: There are also no reserve days as there have been in the past (ie. If Game 2 is called off on Friday it will not be played Saturday rather it will replace Game 3 and become a 2 game series)

Great post Craig

Was just reading the same info when I came into work this morning.

It makes a series play on the dogs a good bet.

Was talking last night to Ken Rutherford, the former Black Caps skipper and now bookie on cricket and racing for the NZ TAB.

He wisely pointed out that the 15-1 record in SA favours was bloated by a 5-0 whitewash in SA early last season when NZ fielded "half a team" due to injuries to top players while the games prior to that involved a NZ team that was nowhere near as experienced, prerpared and confident as this one.

Due to circumstances, am going to play a unit on the following...

NZ to win series @ +275
NZ to bt SA tonite @ +188

GLTA :)
